New addition.... 1984 RX7

Well a friend of mine bought this car last year and I fell in love with it. Asked him if he ever decided to sell it I wanted first refusal rights. Well he decided to sell it :mrgreen:

So here it is, 37,000 miles, 100% rust free. It has had one repaint in its life at some point but does not appear to have been in any accidents. My friend added the polished wheels during his ownership, the original alloys were a little pitted looking and painted a questionable gold color. I dont plan on doing much to it right away, I do have some new tires in a more proper 185 tread width though and I may do a few easily reversible bolt on things, suspension, exhuast etc. Enough rambling, on with the pics :tu:

OH man! That is a great looking Mazda. Tell me, does it have a 12A or 13B fuel injectin in it? I like your car a lot. If you want to make any trades let me know. Peace Brother.

Damn Brad that is the twin to your dads car.!!!!How do you guys find these sweet cars? Is it originally a New England car? I need to hang out with you guys so I can pick up your scraps. Is the underhood as clean as your dads car?

12A, its not a GSL-SE. It has crank windows and a cloth interior

Haha, thanks Chris. Its all about timing, a little bit of luck and good friends that now what you like! As far as I know it was a Marblehead Mass car its whole life. I am going to have to look into it though. Not quite as spotless as my fathers, but it has twice the miles and has been driven in the rain, haha. You going to any VMRC events this year?

It is very clean inside, I am going to be on the lookout for a couple of things though, the shift boot is a little sun damaged due to the glass moonroof and the radio surround could stand to be redone or replaced. But the seats, carpet and dash are pretty mint. I will get some more pics and some of the interior when the sun breaks through, its been kind of dreary out since I picked it up :cry:

Love the color! I think black is the best color for RX-7s. Of course. I might be a little biased as I have a black 85-GSL-SE.

I really like the black. I can't say I've seen any black ones before. Ours is the more common blue with 88k original miles . I wish it was black. Yours is nicer!

Thanks.... some times I wish this was not black. I love the color but my father has one in the same color but a GSL with a leather interior and his is nicer than mine with 19,000 miles! Mine looks like a pos next to his

Your blue one looks nice to! I like it with the stripe in the moldings :tu:

Its sunny out today, so maybe after work I will snap some dry shots.

Haha, that is a bit strange. Although the Beige Talon is not mine it belongs to fellow forum member Andrew (Drew_TSi_STi_Si). However I use to own it for about three weeks before selling it to him and I drove a blue 1990 TSi for about four years as a daily and miss that car (and all of its little quirks) imenslly!
But yes you sir have great taste in cars. If you are ever in the Boston area you will have to swing by. We do have one of the best micro-mini car shows in the country right here in Brookline Ma :tu:

I have a blue 1990 Talon as well, although it's been crashed.

The Talons have GOBS of easy obsene HP... but, are not nearly as fun to toss around like a 1st gen 12A Rx7.

I have not made it to that show yet, but I frequent the event site with often during the show season. Each weekend there is a different theme show there, in fact my father and I run one there every August dedicated to Japanese cars and motorcycles. viewtopic.php?t=4482

Not sure what the requirements are for a Micro/Mini car, but I am planning on attending this year anyway with the NSU.
