Post subject: Old School Japanese Cars at Carlisle - Pennsylvania
PostPosted: Thu Mar 26, 2009 9:33 am
Carlisle has been the best location in the Pennsylvania area for car gatherings for years, and this year they are specifically including an area for vintage Japanese cars and motorcycles. The specific event this year is the Import-Kit/Replicar Nationals, and there are always some japanese cars there. The difference is they are promoting the show to include Japanese cars! The majority will still be imports from italy, germany etc...but for anyone in the area it's an oportunty to see some Japanese cars we don't normally get to see around here. Search for Carlisle and you will find the information. Dates are 5/15 - 5/17. I will be taking both of my 82 preludes and have some other locals taking their cars up with me....who else is interested in meeting up!?!?!?!

Keep in mind this is not the import show they do each year with new imports, this is for vintage cars.

Hmmmm, I have been thinking about going to this for the last few years, maybe this would be the best year to go, and I just found out my work schedule changed and I am off on Saturdays. I think its about 400 miles...hmmmmm..

Hmm, sounds interesting. I'll have to see what's going on that weekend, but perhaps you'll see a Seagreen Turquois '77 B210 there.

Here's the link for more info.

http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/index.asp

Looks like $8 admission on Fri or Sat, and $5 on Sun. $20 allows admission plus parking in the Non-Judged area (usually the best deal).

I'm going to try and make it. It all depends on my work schedule.

OK here's a link to the event: http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/import/

I found this regarding camping: http://www.carlisleevents.com/ce/visitors/camp-park.asp

Camping is available on site, but there is a small extra charge. One 10' x 30' camp space is $15.

Just got the word that my '85 CRX qualifies for the standard of excellence judging. Unless something BIG comes up, I will be there.

I'm heading in Friday and staying the whole weekend. I'll be hangin' with my buddy John and his mint '93 Integra. Look for the "sarge" and my '85 CRX, and say hi.

Less-than-a-week-away bump!

Unfortunately I won't be there, I have to go to a graduation party. :(

Sorry to say it, but I've decided to participate in an SCCA Rallycross this weekend instead of going to Carlisle. It's about 250 miles closer for me.

Have fun guys.

Please take lots of pics of the J-tin! :D

I have to work Friday and Saturday and I figured I could always go out on Sunday but then my girlfriend reminded me that she is graduating from college on that day so I'm out for sure. My Z car isn't ready to make the trip and my Miata isn't big enough to carry much home if I just bought stuff anyway.
