ok guys i figured i should throw my project up here i started with a 76 datsun 610 that i got from my dad i had it for 4 years and did alot of work to it new diff, 5 speed, custom radiator and cooling fan,all new old stock front sheet metal, custom stereo and interior pannels among other things untill 1/15/09 when i got t-boned

very well documented i even have the original window sticker

yesterday i started removing the surface rust and got all the front sheet metal bolted on

thanks edz280zx yes datsunfreak i will put the early stuff on once i get the left front fender repaired

got some work done today i took one of the dash filler pannels striped it then repainted it

the red is rattle can from the local parts store im using filler primer not sealer (cant find any i can afford) so im covering the primer in rattle can for now just to protect it from rust im on the ropes if i want to make it a nice looking rattle can job or just cover it for now and take it to maaco

on a side note datsunfreak how do you remove the window trims?

no rain today :D i removed the stock sound dendener(soaked up water like a sponge) started scrubbing the floors removed the remaining interior pannels blasted out the floors with the hose and started bed lining on the floor boards i didnt get to finish due to running out of bed liner then i removed some more surface rust tomorrow the game plan is to pressure wash the floors then finish bed lining them

work resumed today i didnt get as much done as i wanted to but i did get alot done i started by changing my door guts i swaped the lock out of shellys driver side door as well as the door panel then i installed the replacment glass in the quarter if anyone wants to attempt to replace this glass i advise against it it is a pain in the ass :eek: one of thouse i need 4 hands the size of quarters type of situation i also did a little bit more rust removal from the roof

Okay, then go outside, put 2-3 layers of masking tape on the trim (so you don't scratch it), and use that old school church key to slowly pry up on the trim and it should pop right off. I sometimes wrap tape around the tool as well.

Start at one end and slowly work it until it pops free. :tu: :mrgreen:



Re-install is fairly easy to, just hook the top edge of the trim on the body lip and slowly work it down with the palm of your hand, VERY carefully.
