as for the welding, turn up the heat a little (or the speed down), and aim it more toward the thicker material so you don't burn through the thin stuff.

That engine was not available in the US. That engine was only available in Japan, in late (rectangular headlight) 117 Coupe XE and early Piazza XE and XF. Australia and New Zealand have a thriving industry of buying used cars and used parts in Japan for export and resale. But those engines were not federalized for the US so Customs would be a problem.

JT191.. I'm not 100% positive about the year in the States, but in Canada you can import anything with 4 wheels and use it on the road as long as it's more than 15 years old. The states may be more like 20 years if I recal correctly.. at any rate it can be done

Between homeland security and the environmental protection agency, US Customs has gotten just short of ridiculous lately. Engines get extra scrutiny.
And they apply the same requirements to things imported from Canada as they do if it were imported directly from Japan, so there is no sneaky back door way around it. A lot of Canadian salvage yards simply refuse to ship to the US.

Today the news said that states have been granted the right to force higher fuel efficiency requirements than the federal government. This may only mean that states can outlaw sales of new cars that do not meet higher requirements, or it may mean they can apply those requirements to existing vehicles... It won't be getting better soon.

Will be back into the project soon. The link below contains the reason I've not been working on the Bellett.

I'm in love with every car you own. Damn.

Any new progress on the Bellet? Any more pics of the TX coupe?

I need to learn more about Isuzus now. Because.... damn. They really made some sexy cars. 8)

Sorry guys no progress on the Bellett :(

Haven't touched it in over a year. I have been working on a few other projects and doing paint jobs for other people.

Just have to finish my GX71 Mark II (which should only be a month or 2) then on the silver TX Gemini I need to finish the turbo engine swap and re-paint the car. So expect to see some updates in about a years time

Then finally I will start/finish the Bellett :D
