1979 - 83 Hiluxs (Toyota Pickup for those stateside) are one of my favourite Japanese cars, ever. Just love the style. Fingers crossed I may have one soon.

I made a body template up to try some different colour schemes, wheels etc. Only done a couple so far, this is my favourite; Hayashis and white, 4x2 with 4x4 fenders.

Hahah that's mad, I love it. Especially the mismatching rear rims, read for some dori/burnout action!

So in my boredom tonight, I pulled this piece of crap out, haha.

Image

I guess the idea was just to do one of those retro-styled cars we see these days. I followed the basic lines and shape of the RX-3, but just made it a little swoopier. Added the Mazda flared guards, and the Mazda grill. The headlights freakin' suck though, and I don't think the big squared off blunt fascia really translated the way I wanted it to.

Oh well, just a bit of fun!

Wow, that looks great! Pretty much exactly like what I'd like to see. My ideal concept would be is a retro interpretation of the rotary B-pillar-less hardtop coupes of the early 70s. Four sinister round headlights is a must, although they can be split into two projector beams in a single elemnt on each side. Maybe a prominent leading edge in the hood like in the RX3's (and new Mustang), and four distinct taillights too. Just for fun, how about a a round decorative thingy on the C-pillar like the RX-4 has. And because it will be a concept, it also has to be low and wide with ridiculously large wheels.

That was drawn in '75, it came from a magazine that had an article with a bunch of Datsun concept drawings. That's the only one I saved... :P

Well, not really a drawing, hadn't touched a pen in ages, doubt I could even still write now, but here is one of the few photoshop paintings I actually completed:

<a href="http://s191.photobucket.com/albums/z320/aesthari/Miscellaneous/?action=view&current=NissanS30FairladyZ.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i191.photobucket.com/albums/z320/aesthari/Miscellaneous/NissanS30FairladyZ.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The full size is at http://aesthari.deviantart.com/art/Cust ... Z-71550165 if anyone wants it at all :p

BTW, great work Van, love those lines!
