Well I have bitten the bullet and bought a one owner 1974 929 sedan. She's pretty straight for a 35yo car, and with abit of TLC she'll come up a treat. Still learning whats what with these older cars so I'm letting the pics do the talking. This will be my oldest daughters first car, so this way keeps her interested in mazdas  .

Nice find! Over here, parents buy their teens the biggest, tallest SUV they can find to "keep them safe" but I'm sure your daughter will have the coolest ride at school!

Welcome to JNC :)

,,nice car...that's a keeper...
here its called the 929..
i remember about 2 months ago i knocked on a 929 sedan 4 door window @ a traffic light..and asked the driver..was the car for sale..??..the driver asking for US$1800...the car was in a good condition overall..only the paint job was dull..but the owner was a fault...he didnt even know that his car was 1800cc...he was saying that it's 1600cc all the time..n kept saying that it was a capella....what a waist...

I thought I'd do little update on our little 929. I've stared to pull it apart ready for some rust repairs and a new coat of paint. It's looking a bit sorry for itself but it be beautiful again in no time

As well as stripping down the 929 I also picked up a spare VC motor and box. The plan is to rebuild the spare than do a swap over once the body work is complete.

nice car but why are you putting all this work into it to when its gonna be your daughters first car? its going to get wrecked now before you say it wont i said the same thing about my first car my original datsun 610 and it got in 2 accedents one was a fender bender that took me 3 months to fix and the second was the one that distroied it now neather were my fault but my point remains that it will get hit so get her somthing you dont care about and keep the mazda nice

just my opinion

Well, hopefully if she is involved in the build, that will lower the odds. 8)

I think she'll appreciate it more and hopefully look after it, but these old cars are built like a tank so hopefully it'll hold up better if its involved in a accident.

Its a long story but a close friend of mine got them made up for his toyota club and I attended a classic show with him so we whacked it on for the day for shit and giggles. Its off now and put away together with the rest of the collection.
