Hi all!!!

I'm Andrius from Lithuania, Europe. Here mazda 929 or even rx4 are very rare cars.
Car arived to Lithuania from Austria.
Here are some pictures of my beauty. Engine is V6 2.9 as i don't have original 1.8.
Future plans will be to put rotary (13b carb or rx7 S5 13b turbo)
Image
Body was quite good, except sills, wheel arches and some rusts in flour.

Finaly car is painted. now assembling, everything goes very slowly
as my garage is in another side of city and I don't have much time.
But everything goes good way.

Image
Restored almost everything including suspension. All new shocks, steering rods, ball joints. very hard to get parts :(

Hello Andrius, welcome aboard. Excellent choice in projects! Fear not they rust in the same places here in Australia!

Looks like it's coming along nicely, if you need any parts just let me know, might be able to source them for you here. :tu:

Now that's a project! And I though finding parts in the US was hard. I admire your ambition. Welcome to JNC!

Finding parts is verry hard work. i have 1977 mazda 929 coupe in very bad condition, was restoring it for 2-3 years. and then found this body in Austria, first mind was to buy it as donor for parts, but then i get the car - it became a new project. preview 929 1977 now has another owner who is trying to put body on rx7 platform

Sometimes postage cost 2x price of parts :(
Alredy bought parts from:

Australia
USA
New Zeland
Sweeden
Holand
Austria
Germany
UK
Thailand
This mazda will be most cosmopolitical
Still need some small parts.
this weekend spent few hours in my garage:

thanks guys. will keep posting new pics.
now working on transmision, engine (not original 2,9 V6 shame on me)
Front brakes original 929 was very rusted :( so insted of searching new original calipers i placed 280mm rotors with 4 pot calipers from rx7 S5.
Rear will be disc too. Master cylinder changed from 7/8" to 1" bore.
Outside - original, under hood no.

No, I will leave 929 badges, as it is 929. hope will get rotary engine. Badges without engine are nothing.

Pics will be later, know progres is under bonnet

Hi guys!

Apex_lt you have very nice 929. I wish you rebuild it soon. Where did you buy parts for your beauty? I wonder because want to rebuilt my mazda too.
Im from Poland and I have a smal junk-yard. Sometimes im finding interesting things. Last month I found my new car.

you'll be surprised that we have quite alot of parts for those 929 sedans in australia and they arent too expensive. get a hold of tim (b1500) as he'll have parts - might be expensive to post though.

Thanks for info

You'll be suprised that there's no parts for those 929. I've never heard about second 929 LA2VS in Poland. Its enormous unique even in Europe. Thats why, I dont want it to end in steelworks.

Do you know how much does it cost to post something to Europe?

hi, sorry for late replay. yes australia has lot of parts, usaly postage cost the same as parts. how much will cost postage you can check here:
www.post.com.au than select postage calculator>international paracels>choose country> weight > Air Mail.

I got lot of parts from australia, even front spoiler, front grille (cuted in half)
Looks like this 929 sedan is in quite good condition - all parts you have.

p.s. do you have some spare parts for this car? i need front suspension hubs and some other parts. have manual transmision ad the same engine if you need.
www.ebay.com www.ebay.com.au is quite good for parts. best way is to find something in forums.

At this time i'm restoring my wheels Epsilon Mesh. polishing, painting. one month ago i become father, this meens less (almost no time) for my mazda.

started engine, transmision, ready to drive, need to fill brake fluid, connect some wires, and and and...

I don't see a differents between VC and MA engines/ Am I right?
Which AT used with VC?

Please answer me to marbuh@rol.ru

Я не вижу разницы между VC и MA двигателями. Объем 1,8 имели оба и 2,0 только МА.

Какую АКПП ставили на Mazda с VC?
Не 3N71B это была?

Ответьте на marbuh@rol.ru

Let the video talk:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiRM-LkMc8A

yes. started the engine (month ago) it drives. didn't tested in normal conditions, as brakes are not finished (only front's, no rear, but it will be soon)
assembling interior. it's hard to get all things together, especialy than you don't know what screws, bolts where used in some parts. I'm trying to change all parts to best condition or even new ones (bolts, clips, fasteners, rubers and so on)
Hope. In spring. I will be riding.

Very good work Apex_it well done. Parts are in big supply in Australia and post not to bad especially with the AU$ being so low compared to the Euro.
Cheers

Yes buying in australia usaly is cheaper than in USA,GB or DE. As in all countries all parts cost the same amount, only different curency

i.e.
if something cost 100EUR (345LT our curency)
so it will be almost the same in
USA - 100USD (260LT our curency)
AU - 100AUD (170LT our curency)
GB - 100punds (also felt, was stronger than euro, now almost the same)

So best is to buy in Australia, but postage is most expensive.

You could always send it by the good old paddle steamer, it will take longer but lots cheaper.
