Ok, update.

Spent the weekend fibeglassing the flares. I used thing 5mm hardboard glued to the face of the flares to produce a sharp edge (you can see in the old pics) We glassed over them to seal them off.

Here is some pics of the finial product I put down some matt black to check finial lines to see it was the right shape. Its starting to take shape.

Interesting. I think it will look the goods with paint on, retaining the red/black two tone look? I think it would tone down the pretty modern looks of the kit in a good way.

Definitely needs some SERIOUS offset, 0 or lower offset 9s and 10s maybe... Shame its not 5 stud because there are buttloads of cheap ex-VIP 17/18x10-12" rims on yahoo nowadays, all the Japanese VIP kiddies seem to be going 19" or bigger and they don't fit much else without a widebody you see.
Otherwise you guys get those sort-of-te37-ish DTM Drift rims hey, they come in some decent offsets...

Should look pretty good when you finish it, hang in there.

Deffinitly retaining the two tone, Doing the red uppper, Of corse black lower but bringing it over the flares also. Pretty much what my old pics are done as.

Yeah lots and lots of VIP wheels now on trademe, Keeping a eye out. There are a few 4x114 optoins, Or ill use 4x114.4 to 5x114.4 bolt on adaptors

Hey thanks for sharing! It's nice to see an old L6 gata getting another lease on life.
Your R30 and body mods convinced me to add these pics. Yeah I know! it's only the four cylinder jobby but it is the R30! Think of it as encouragement or inspiration to keep it up.
Err..why "Stagefumer"? Did tummy nerves cause you to disgrace yourself in the school play?....... or what  ?

haha, thanks for the reply, "stagefumer" Was a name i made up from my old school days, Which was a mix of Alot of anger and large amount of bass Guitar playing. = Two and 2 together A pretty creative name..

I love the tomica dr30.. Pitty it was actaully a Proper fj20det... Non the less a fantastic 80's style race car.

Most of my design are a inspuration of these pics
