What happend with the alignment
camber is a good thing, but only if it is negative

keep us updated ;-) :tu:

Alignment will be done way in the end, as suspension and engine is still out

Suspension work is all done, coil over experiment worked and came out great, rest testing that will be after engine is in and check the spring load.

The struts were cut and piece with billet steel made to be welded and have a thread on top, then a sleeve to go on the billet part from lower end and will take the coilover from top, gives height adjustment as well.

Here all parts

Cutting the struts
Image
Image

Welding it

Image
Image

For top custom plate with same holes as stock upper mount from outside but inside same as stock coils so was replaced.

So final outcome from this before
Image

to THIS

Image
Image
Image
Image

For rear just installed the suby ones as is, will get it painted once cars gets paint as needed to move the car now, there will be two springs one on the coils and other stock one which came cut from Japan.
Image

Tie rod ends are fixed as well came out similar size to hako
Image

The end bushes were replaced filled with grease as well

Before
Image

Now
Image
Image
Image
Image

As finishing the front suspension so got some brake pads which will fit Hako as well
Image
Image
Image

As said earlier sent all bolts, locks of hood, trunk, hood hinges, headlight rear trims, fuel line and some other misc for galvanizing to get it cleaned up and rust free came out good not great but will serve the purpose.

Image
Image
Image
Image

got some brass bolts to go along with some of these engine parts.
Image

Now will fit all engine parts and try to start the engine as all engine suspension job is done repaired or replaced except rear control arms, in the meanwhile push the bodyshop guys to finish the bodywork to have the car on the road before summer

Engine all bolted up, looking great, might look at cam cover again once engine is dropped in, now bolting up the gearbox in a day or two and start the engine to check if everything is ok.

Image
Image
Image
Image

Front suspension parts all bolted up which is a good news as tie rod ends was from other cars, but with few washers everything looks good.

Now waiting for the bodywork guy now to start his work

Took the car for paint job and pending bodywork to Performance Garage

This was done in first one hour impressive all paint stripped

Image

Been shopping for a while, all emblems, all rubbers for doors, glasses lights etc and other misc stuff from Japan

Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

Managed to cut the fender flares for coupe and somehow fit at the back, seems ok so far will know once its lowered

Image
Image
Image
Image

For paint was looking for something in green, finalized these two shades for test panels

Image

Bit lighter in Sun
Image

Test fitment of all panels done

Image
Image

As per the plan engine bay will be painted then car will be taken to install the engine and finish engine bay then rest of the paint

Moving along assembly which is done fine some parts came in, as because of painting all factory stickers (AC/Radiator/tire pressure/Ok seal/oil cap/hood lever/high ocatane indicator etc)were gone got some new and some accessory ones PMCS, Sport corner, commonly used on skylines. Some bigger ones will go inside hood and some on car. Still need to find the right place for these stickers.

Image
Image
Image
Image

New OEM wiper arms and blades
Image

Using current fog lamps on hakotora (WIP) so new of hakosuka
Image

For rear got 14k springs with adjustrer
Image

And got custom Gaz shocks thanks to friend in UK, these are with 20 damper setting and short stroke so wont bottom out when lowered
Image
Image

Send the headlamp frame and front grill for polish then paint
Image
Image

Now final status of hako

Image
Image

Another electric pusher along with stock clutch fan, very high power pusher
Image

All moldings and rubbers installed except inner door wetting
Image

New redline fuel pump and regulator, trunk was painted and gas tank was sprayed flatblack came out very nice
Image

Rear and front bumper refinished, taillight panel needs rechrome but cant find anyone locally to chrome this material

If you don't mind me asking, where'd you get all the stickers? I've been looking for a PMCS one for the longest time.

Interior and some clean up on engine was done recently

Whole interior relayed gone with fabric roof compared to plastic as in OEM and used some sound dampener then full custom carpet

Image
Image
Image

Custom B pillar covers
Image
Image

Image
Image
Image
Image

Removed the stock fuel lines, changed the coil to MSD, installed Moshimoto radiator overflow tank, changed stock radiator cap with HKS one, new plug leads, polished the strut bar and refinishing of some engine painted as was damaged over a year while engine was lying around.

Image
Image
Image

Changed all the bolts to newer ones in engine bay and front end, had to cut and weld the front coils for height adjustment still I think needs more cutting as cant go lower in setting any further, will look into that after installing all pending body pieces but this is how it sits now.

Image

As of now we are finishing the battery relocation to trunk and final wiring job, car should be ready for registration test sometime next week, getting impatient and cant wait :)
