Just got my self into a KGC10 Hako... Im not new with all the Nissan / Datsun scheme, but Hako is another world.
The one i got is a bit sad, because its been in 'wrong' shop for restoration, so i will need to fix quite a bit of the stuff they already 'restored' and will need quite a few parts... So maybe some one could share the sources where to look for parts?

I lookin at Yahoo.auctions all the time, Ebay's are another option, but where are other sources with some 'enlish speaking' seller :) Would be nice if we could keep such a topic for people like me who are a 'a bit new' to whole Hako world...

Just one for now, afraid to go into the detailed pics :D

Image

Its all sanded to the bare metal, under the hood is compleatly stock engine. All in all the cars was pretty good base before the 'restoration' job i think and was all original...

Worst places are the ones where the welding where done... I will need left side door (because it so warped after welding that it will be stupid to try and hammer it to shape, and use LOTS of body filler :( , also will need a new bonnet, because then welding / fixing front of it, it also got heat warped badly, and lots its shape on the front :( In the rear, one suspension 'leg' is welded on top of the rusted original one, sideskirts are made from new sheet metal and welded on the top of the original ones also :( SO will need to remove all the 'work' that is carried out and make everything a proper way.

Also will need almost all weatherstrip, new rubber seals on the rear windows... Good thing is it aint missin any chrome trim, and most of other parts are still in the car.

If someone who owns a Hako could help me out with the shape of the side skirts it would be awesome. I would need a paper trace of the shape of the metal, need to know the curve / angle to make new sheet metal sides the proper way, not simply flat / angled bend like the ones that are on my car...

Instead of looking for metal replacement parts...if you have $$$, go with this instead.

I thought about going with FRP parts, but dont like the idea of FRP showing its structure over the years :( I want this to be restored for the street use, and dont want to go away from original too much...

Thanks for the link, at least i will know where to source some parts already!

Thank Eric, will PM him!

Right now i found some parts already in japan, and will get them imported. Found original hood, and still thinking if i should go with FG hood instead of metal one...

What i really really need is some help from owner of original skyline, to get the shape of the side skirts! I need to fabricate them from sheet metal and would like to get the right shape this time. So if some one could trace the shape on the paper / scan it - it would be perfect!
