The following year at the same classic car meet in southern Denmark there was a much stronger Jap contingency.

Loved this TA22 Celica GT!! Must have snapped about a million detailed pics of it...

Image

But isn't it funny how the grass is always greener on the other side??
While every enthusiast in the US seems to be converting their Celica to smiley bumpers, it was this USDM Celica that stole the show among the J-tin in Denmark. We've just never seen bumpers like that before - let alone that weird and funky half vinyl roof... :tu:

Image

Very clean 1st gen. Civic!

Image

Cute Peanut.

Image

But my own personal favorite at this meet was beyond doubt this very cool Toyota Carina 1600 Sprinter!
Mega rare in Denmark, great colour in and out, super original and unmolested and clearly the stuff of J-tin dreams... 8)

Image

Has to be one of the funkiest rear light designs in history!!

Image

Another early Civic - especially the colour on this one just blew me away.

While visiting Denmark last summer I attended Denmarks biggest classic car meet with some old friends.
Especially the Mazda Club Denmark had put up a really good show! It was mostly RX-7's and MX-5's, but there was also a nice little variety of early Mazdas on display.

Starting with by far the rarest!!

Image

Image

Image

VERY original RX-2!

Image

Image

I believe this was the only non-Mazda JNC at the show.
But what a car!! Still owned and enjoyed by it's original lady owner... :tu:

And you're probably going to want to sit down before this next one!!
I recon this is one of the sexiest historical racing cars I've ever seen... 8)
It's a Norwegian owned Castrol RX-2 that was being raced at Copenhagen Classic Grand Prix - a historical race meet held annually on a street circuit in the midst of Copenhagen.

Image

Image

Image

After drooling all over the deep black paintjob and that sexy Castrol livery for ages, my mates that I was there watching the racing with had to finally drag me away from this RX-2 when they wanted to check out some Escort mk.1's and Alfa Bertones around the corner...

I LOVE this thread :tu:

here are my sightings from South Africa.

Image
Above: From our family workshop where we specialise in brake systems & clutches. We mainly do old cars as we have been or my dad has been trading for close to 50 years now. I have plenty of old J-tins on my camera but i need to find my cable for it :(

Image
Above: snap taken by my GF who is 510 crazy, well any Japanese car but loves the old cars more  lucky me.

Image
Above: I think this is rare not only in SA so one can only imagine my facial expression when seeing this at a local car show.

WAUW!! Awesome cars... Love the two GT-R's. And the 432 is even cooler!
HeHe... kind of makes the Civic's and Carina's I posted fade a little...

Came across this cool little late-80's Isuzu Gemini out in Sai Kung the other day.
Apart from a missing left door mirror it looked very straight and tidy!
Was a manual with some quite neat sports seats too.
Don't see many of them anymore...

Alright, Well during the past Summer I went to the Issaquah Car Show in Washington and saw this gem off in a parking lot. This meant I had to run across a heavy traffic 4 lane highway, fun!

Image

I was so tempted to open the hood, as it was cracked before. Regret it now, but I didn't want to touch it; it was too perfect.

Image

Later on I did some more research and found out that it was a 1972 Skyline upgraded to GT-R spec.

For $32,000, I'd buy it!

Saw this while wandering through Chicago neighborhoods one morning after work. Might even belong to someone on this forum?

More Toyotas in Chicago. Spotted the three cars on walk all within a mile of each other. Saw the FJ while driving home from work.

There is an early 80s white pre-facelift notchback celica near my house in Las Vegas near grand canyon and grand teton in the antelope HOA. Anyone here's car? I'll take a pic next time I see it.

Seen it around once before, pretty sure it's the original owner driving it as last time he was struggling a bit with the steering lol. 8)
