I bought this 73 wagon on eBay:

currently taking it apart, will paint it and install a roll cage and just the front 2 seats, all the OLD stuff will be scraped, the old 18R-C engine is old, tired and useless, wiring are weak, brake system is weak, etc.

I intend on using it as a daily driver.
I was planning on building a space frame for it but I decided to keep the unibody intact instead.

yesterday I bought another vehicle on eBay for cheap, just for the engine, the engine is a work of art and was built by Yamaha for Ford, DOHC 3.0 liter, yes, the 220HP SHO engine

here's what the engine looks like right now:

and this is how it could look:

Yes, I will have to make an adapter to mate it with a T5 tranny and make it a RWD, like the one in this Healey:

what do you think?

I will have updates in this page:

Oo my little pretty one, pretty one
When you gonna give me some time, SHO-rona?
Oo you make my motor run, my motor run
Gun it coming off of the line, SHO-rona

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up with a touch of the younger kind
My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma my SHO-rona

Come a little closer, over here
Close enough to look in my eyes, SHO-rona
Keep a little mystery, kissin' me
Runnin' down the length of my thigh, SHO-rona

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up from a touch of the younger kind
My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma my SHO-rona
Ma ma ma my SHO-rona

When ya gonna get to me, get to me
Is it just a matter of time, SHO-rona
Is it a destiny, a destiny
Or is it just a game in my mind, SHO-rona

Never gonna stop, give it up, such a dirty mind
I always get it up from a touch of the younger kind
My-ee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!
Ma ma ma ma ma ma ma ma
Myee ey-ee by-ee ahee ah woo!

Ma ma ma my SHO-rona
Ooooh my SHO-rona

OR....

Little SHO, you're really lookin' fine
Four cams and a 5-speed in a Corona of mine
Listen to her tachin' up now, listen to her why-ee-eye-ine
C'mon and turn it on, wind it up, blow it out SHO

Ha, that looks like a great project and, I would guess, a never-before seen drivetrain/body combo. Great song too. Got it stuck in my head now.

OK, finally done with some classes I had going, time to get back in the garage and continue working on Project SHOrona.

a couple of weeks ago:

[url=http://venomxs.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=217:sho-engine-out&catid=46:project-shorona&Itemid=54]Took out the subframe with the engine, tranny, exhaust and steering system, finally today I mounted it onto the engine stand and took off the Beautiful Intake manifold.

Video of it running included, it will load automatically, so probably lower your volume before clicking on the link above.

I love this engine !

Is that a mazda engine anyway? The 3 liter ford probes use mazda engines... I mean that would be totally cool in my book, i never liked ford

Yamaha engine (made in Japan, for a Supercar that never materialized) installed in a Ford Car but I will install it into a 73 Toyota Corona.

The engine is a Ford designed shortblock with a top end and assembly by Yamaha. The block is very similar to a 3.0 Vulcan block, with some improvements to withstand the extra RPM and HP.

Take the DIS module end of the plenum and swap it with the TB end for RWD...though you probably already figured that out.

Why don't you just use a 3.0 Vulcan RWD tranny like the Mazda unit that comes int he Ranger and B3000?

If you want to do the T5 swap, this guy makes an adaptor that you can bolt to the back of a mid-80's Aerostar/Ranger 2WD M/T bellhousing and use the long input ('94-'95 5.0 Mustang) T-5 with. He also does spacers for the runners to the lower.

http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/drvovru1987/

I've had a couple of those cars...both 2nd gens. One MTX and one AXOD. As well as a SVO and other Ford oddities.

Need any more Teksid blocks?
