Sweet looking Honda man, looks a great find. Did you get it for a good price?

Ta, i paid £128 for it. Looking forward to collecting on saturday :tu:

Seems wheels are hard to come by in 4x120PCD though. First job might be to change the PCD of the hubs but i'm not sure just yet :|

The paint is not bad, becides the hood. And the interior looks mint. Still has the plastic door lining.

When the car was new in Aug79' the dealer offered Ziebart rustproofing as an option. Fortuately this was taken up and as a whole the cars pretty solid. The Ziebart treatment included drilling the sills and pillars and treating the inside to the rustproofing fluid.

Image

Here you can see the yellow plastic caps they inserted into the drill holes.

Image

Thing is my other car is a 1993 Eunos Roadster aka Miata and its never had an inch of rust on it. Ive modded the engine and transmission, wheels and brakes myself, but bodyworks unknown territory to me. :?

Anyway you've seen the good, here's the bad and the ugly

Image

Image

Need to do some reading up on bodywork repair as i like to do the work myself.

Other problems are the seat covers.

Image

And i discovered last night that the head gaskets blown, Service history sugests that this has been a recent problem as the radiator fan switch was replaced to "cure" an overheating problem. Either it was allways the headgasket and they missed it or the overheating has damaged the head gasket. I now have a head gasket in the garage to fit.

Car is looking very good for its age and hey if you can rebuild engines then a bit of bodywork aint no problem eh. Im sure it will get the blackbullet treatment.

Bit of an update. Finding aftermarket wheels has been very difficult as the car has very odd stud fitting of 4x120 pcd. After contacting a few manufactures and supliers it was sugested on 1stgeneration civic forum that i try Compomotive. http://www.comp.co.uk/
They can custom manufacture a minilite style 13x7 wheel for me with a few weeks lead time in a 4x120pcd fitment for £479 inc Vat and delivery for a set of 4 :thumb-up:
Reasonable i thought. Here's what they look like.

Started the "Restoration" of the car today and first job is to replace the Cylinder Head Gasket and tidy up the engine bay. Out comes the radiator first. :)

Engine bays going to need some work to get it to my standard.

Inside the rocker cover the usual creamy deposits you get with HGF.
