Please update with how you tackle this spring assembly. I just picked up a set of power fender mirrors for my S130, unfortunately the spring assembly on the underside are severely rusted. I've tried bringing them back and looked all over for something that matches-to no avail.

BTW-Im out in Ann Arbor. I gotta check out this car sometime. Great job so far. :tu:

I have a portable blaster $30 from harbor freight. Blasted the spring till most of the rust is gone then grinded the rest away. VHT Rattle canned it black. Since the car will no longer be seeing any type of rain unless I'm caught in it. its good enough.
My springs on my mirrors were the same way, I did the same process.

Thanks, I'll have to try this.
Always big plans for my Z, but it will have to wait until I can afford a place that has garage space for my Z33, ZX and one of our DD's. Until then my father is kind enough to store it in his garage down south. Restored most of it, next is a taking care of a few rust issues-then a quality paint job. I've got a bunch of goodies for it-ill pull it all together after that.

If you don't mind me asking, what car are the 4-piston calipers off of? Also, what size wheels are you going to use?

Your going to have to let me know the next time you have the car out and about. I live up near Flint but would have no problem driving down to the D to check this car out. I am EXTREMELY jealous that you have one and I love that its so close to me. Keep up the good work.

Initial look with paint ahhhhh doesnt seem that bad YA RIGHT if theres a bubble or chip theres way more going on behind the scenes.
So time to peal back some of the previous work from japan... Just to say if theres an overlap patch EVERYTHING behind that patch is still rotting away so all patches must come off! Cleaned, cut out, and re patched properly
