Project Update - Engine now removed. What a pain in the ass. It started out great. Just a few broken bolts here and there, then I spent a couple hours trying to get the transmission linkage (aka bitch pin) out and could not. I also could not get the axles out due to lower control arm rust issues. Anyway, slowly lifted the engine and pried out the axles and then slowly manipulated to get the shift linkage cleared. I will take the bitch pin out while the engine is sitting on the floor. Should be better than laying on my back.

Today I stripped a lot of rust. Found out the car was repainted at some point because there was bondo in a few spots. I hate that. Here is a video update

Nice progress!
So what are your plans?
Stock or mod?
And which colour?

Personally I love the white with the blue and tan stripes on it.

At this point, I am thinking of keeping the color stock. I will have the windows tinted and get some vinyl graphics added. I have a very good shop that does both, unfortunately 8 hours away.

The engine will go from the stock 1.5L CVCC to an Accord 1.6L (crate motor - AKA New Old Stock) so some slight modifications inluding weber carb. I also have headers which I was very lucky to find and they are in very nice shape. From there taking it step by step.

Have spent about 60 hours working on this car since the last update. Lots of rust and body cleanup. I decided the stop working on the hood and found a double air scoop '77 that is really clean and adds character. Painting in next 30 days.

Getting closer to sending to the paint shop. I added new fender and used an old one to form the wheel well in the back passenger wheel well.

Last update was back in November. Since then I have been restoring an '88 CRX SI. But just now starting the 79 Civic restoration. These images from the paint shop this week.

Looking good!
I went with a 78 Accord block and kept the 1500 head.
It's a little more torque than the 1500 block. :)
