Anyone ever have a leak from the underside of the intake manifold? Not from a hose or the gasket that mates to the head but from the manifold itself. I am attaching a pic to show from where it appears to be leaking. I circled the area in question.

Thoughts?

This has happend to me before on a 22r. The pull the manifold off, clean it and search for hairline cracks.

:(

thanks for the info.

sucks. I just put it all back together too! I installed a new carb and had pulled it out to refresh the manifold gaskets. Just got done putting on the weber and got everything perfect and wouldnt you know it - this happens. sigh...

I was thinking of using RTV or other sealant first. If it is a hairline crack it should fix it. I dont believe it is heavily pressurized so maybe I'll be ok.

I'll try this first, wait a few days and post my results....

So far so good. I used RTV and drove it around all day. NO leaks yet. I put a mirror to the manifold earlier on in the day and did see steam which made me believe it could still be leaking somewhat but no moisture yet. I'll watch it to see just in case my coolant isn't 'steaming out' of my system...
