Hey guys so I’m looking into doing a 2jzge swap into my mx32. I like the 4m but it is burning oil right now and is in need of a rebuilt. I need something with a little more umph, so I’m looking for an upgrade. I’m still planning on keeping it just a daily cruiser, so I’m sticking with an automatic setup. My questions are how the difficult the swap is? What parts are needed? What needs to be modified? Pretty much anything that is needed to complete this swap. Also, if anyone else has done this swap, what is the range of cost of this complete swap (DIY swap and/or Shop installed)??

From the research I’ve done, I think these are the things needed to complete the swap:

-Complete Engine Assembly
• Engine
• Automatic Transmission
• Wiring Harness
• ECU
• Alternator
• Power Steering
• Intake Manifold
• Exhaust Manifold

-MX73 (MA6x) JZ Swap Motor Mount Brackets??

-MX73 (GX71) Urethane Motor Mounts??

-Front sump oil pan??

-Modify Crossmember??

-Driveshaft??

-Fuel lines??

I know some of you have done this swap already, so I would like to hear your opinions and suggestions. Much Appreciated :)

x7 2jz brackets will work
front sump oil pan
x3 draftshaft should work
gas pedal that is compatable with 2jz
2jz ac hoses to mod the fixture to x3

make sure you clean the intake manifold, i had an issue with that.
you might have an issue with the fuel pump. im changing out my stock one.

1200 to 2000 for installation labor only.

depends how much you can source from a salvage yard and how much work you can do yourself.

best advice, find someone who wrecked their sc300 or other jz powered car and buy the whole thing

Coolio. Hopefully I can just find a wrecked gs300, it seems that would be the best choice. Fingers crossed.

Question, so I have a gs300 harness w/ecu. Will 89 cressida or sc300 auto transmission fit with this setup correctly?

SC300 transmission will bolt up. Not sure if the transmission harness plugs are the exact same as the GS.

89 Cressida definitely wont bolt up (7M bellhousing). Might if you swap bell housings?

I'd just stick with a JZ transmission out of an SC or GS.

Yeah this was what I was thinking too. Seems like the sc300 transmission are a little bit cheaper but just hesitate to buy one since not sure of if the plugs will work with the harness.
