$900? Is that to make them 100% mickey mouse or just roll out the dents and weld up the crack?

Roll dents, weld cracks, fill divots, polish and skim.
Refurb to as new.

Okey dokey then.
Today was the day the new diff cover was going on.

Image

First up, went to Pirtek and got some Dowty seals for the plugs.

Image

Good little gizmos these.
Steel washer with a rubber seal built in.

Image

I love the smell of diff oil in the morning

Image

Diff plug a little furry. Nothing to worry about.

Image

Here are a few comparo pics.

Image

Image

Image

Almost there, used Gasket Goo to seal it up.

Image

Old.

Image

New

Image

Image

It holds 2 litres of oil, which I think about double what the stock one holds..

Only thing is now I have to carry a jack and stands so I can show it off :P

Soooo.......

I pulled the trigger on a pair of Panasport G7s.

16x7+27.

This is what got me started on these.

The plan is to re-lip them to something a bit more special and give them a refurbish and new colour, I'm thinking silver, or colour coded grey to the car.
Lipped up will give me-
16x9+2
or
16x9.5-4
or
16x10-11

I'll do it as a how to using Whitehorse lips.
Just need to find another pair now. :D

Drove it home (40 mins) in torrential rain the day before. (Friday)
Driving along, (Saturday afternoon) wipers and washers come on of their own accord.
Smell burning look down, smoke from fusebox area.
Pull over, smoke from under bonnet.
Pop bonnet, and leap out extinguisher in hand.
Smoke and flames from fusable links area next to battery, and smoke next to brake booster.
Put out fire and disconnect battery.

Getting quoted today.
Looks like body loom is toast, water got in somewhere and shorted stuff out.
Just depends what else has been fried along with it.
May even be a write off, but I don't think so.
Least I hope not.
