I REALLY like your car full stop. My C110 will be white with the same Hayashi rims, our cars would look great in a shoot together haha. Keep up the good work buddy!

Thanks!

I found that trim on Yahoo Auctions Japan actually. I don't have any more pics handy, but I might have a few spare pieces of it in the garage that I can snap some pictures of? Are you interested in pictures of the frame or pictures of the clips?

You can find the stuff on YAJ by searching for モール which translates to "mall" (shrugs)

The kanji for Kenmeri is ケンメリ

Here's one I found for what looks like the doors with a quick search that might work for you: http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h174977368

I have yet to see any replica ones made at any of the usual shops, but I bet if you keep an eye on YAJ for a few months you will find what you need with those search words

Awesome, thanks. It's the rubber I'm after. I had the stainless strips polished the the metal clips and runner re-plated but the rubber weather seal is stuffed. It's hard as a rock and all cracked/broken. I'll give that a shot! Thanks.

"モール" is indeed the phonetic "mall", and it's actually a corruption of 'moulding' via the shortened vernacular 'moul' ( pronounced like 'mole' ).

Semi-useless information department over and out.... :)

By the way, the colour looks great. Love it. Just right.

What's the manfr / code? Is it a Japanese car colour?

HS30-H - I'm not sure if it's a factory Nissan color or not (and therefore not sure the paitncode). It's definitely not the original paint on the car, though. I see some evidence that the car was red in a previous life

I have a few updates to share.

First, my Kameari header came and as expected it is beautiful:

Nice tig welds:

Also from Kameari, some stiffer engine mounts and transmission mounts:

Some NOS door handles:

And, finally after searching for a while, some old GTX badges that I am going to try to re-paint and make look presentable to swap the GTR badges off of my car:

Since my car has not been in a drivable state for quite some time, I got myself this little 1:18 scale model on Hayashi Streets. It's pretty much the spitting image of my car:

I also finally tackled pulling the old L20 this weekend. Here are a few pictures of the process.

Step 1: hood removal

Up in the air

Very carefully angling the engine/transmission out of the bay as a unit (that's my friend in the picture)
Image

Awesome OTC 1805 load rotor which made angling the engine/transmission SO much easier

And finally out:

Very cool bits and pieces Peter!!!!

That header is gorgeous indeed!

Funny that you pulled your motor yesterday, cause I did the very same thing on Big Red yesterday... Twins!

Is your other motor done ?

poorb0yw - I found the door handles on YAJ. There are pretty nice replicas and decent used sets on there pretty often, but it took being patient to find a NOS set.

Eric - that's funny that you pulled yours out yesterday, too. My other motor is mostly done. The long block is built, but Rebello was modifying the dipstick to work with a Hako pan and modifying the intake manifold I gave them. I'm doing my best to be patient (: I figured you would be happy to see I am going to put GTX badges back on my car!

I like that both of you are advocates of the non GTR badging. I feel the same way. I shaved all emblems from mine when I restored the body.

I do have both the GT_KAI badges though. I only install them for shows as I doubt I would ever find originals again.

Not much to update here, but I did completely re-finish the GTX badges that I posted earlier. It was way more time consuming than I expected.
