Yeah I don't think you would want to break that piece of glass. I don't know if the MX73 has the same windsheild. I know the rear glass is different.

I bought one just to measure it and its short from every side, a window from japan would cost me more than $800 between price and shipping so if it does happen to brake I think im going with plexi glass for the time being.

is it an absolute necessity to remove the glass?

Check the "Bug" number on bottom center with other yota glass numbers, can be O.E. or aftermarket glass.

Yea the glass has to be removed to take care of some rust between the windshield trim and the body that went through, plus I really want to do a perfect job on the body.

I called a couple of toyota dealers with the serial number on the windshield and nothing came up, the Mark II is longer and it being a hardtop its window is unique, measured an MX83 window today and it fell short by inches but was very close, the mx73 was short and smaller by a lot.

You may get a little more info having a auto glass install company run your number for a match.
Dealerships don't offer much support or intrest in corporate obsolete vehicles.
The number begins with FW.

I also checked with the glass companys here and it being a JDM car there's no equal to it here.

you might be screwed on replacing the glass. plexi would suck compared to glass unless youre building a dedicated race car and you dont mind replacing it often.

time to make a judgement call...

I can also make a tempered glass windshield but i would have to tint it on both sides incase an accident.

Were taking it off today so we shall see.
