Yesterday, Sunday March 10, was All Japan Day in Glenelg, South Australia.
Record turnout with over 370 entrants. A few pics from the day. Sorry for the Mazda bias, I can’t help myself......

It was a good day with some nice nostalgics there :) Shame that there were soo many of the same car when it came to the later Skylines, Siliva's and 180's though.

Yeah, have to agree. I obviously love the old girls, and there was definitely a good spread of them on show, but I too do get a bit bored of the skyline / 180 / s series nissans.....although I did like the import S12.

Personal opinions and preferences I suppose.....some people probably wondered why there was a dead stock series 2 RX7 there.......

Because dead stock S2 RX7's a freaking awesome and have character.... Lol. Yeah, I see your point. While I didn't like majority of the cars there, I appreciated the effort that had gone into some of the builds. My mate had the red RA40 with chrome bumpers there if you managed to spot it :)

Haha...yeah I saw the RA40 quite a nice car. There were a few nice old celicas, corollas, coronas etc there. A guy from work had his silver celica there...not sure if its a TA22?? The one with the pull back sunroof. Cool cruiser.

A lot of the late model stuff there is very "bolt on" where the oldies seem to have a lot more "work" put into them, which is what I love. Seeing a car that someone has poured their heart and soul into is what makes the day for me.

Maybe we need to split it into new school and old school.......haha

Wow, you know Wayne huh? :) He and his son James own the TA22, awesome looking car. (PS I'm in the Classic Celica Club of SA with them)

It would be cool if it was split up between old and new school. Your spot on about the bolt on point, more effort to build a proper old school car. While you can buy bolt on parts they still require a fair bit of work to pull them off :D

Nah I actually know James!! He works at our St Mary's store. Had a good chat with him on the day. Cool little car, great father son effort.

Nice pics Ben, every time i see a black R100 it makes me wanna paint mine that colour. Black looks so good on R1's, is it just me or are the tail lights on the piss abit?

That 180B with the om's looks killer!

Hey Matt, yeah black looks killer on R1's.......I noticed the lights too....I'm pretty sure that it is a 1300, so maybe the lights weren't put on quite right. You should have heard it pulsing away....sounded mad!!!

Loved the 180B, brilliant body work, paint that looked wet still, excellent attention to detail and twin weber fed as well. Great blend of old school with new school - bride seats, big OM's, a touch of carbon fibre etc. an absolute standout in terms of quality.

Adelaide was one of the places that the Subaru FF1 was sold during 1969 and 70, does anyone know of any still alive either there or anywhere
Cheers Terry

There is a lime green one I see every now and again in the north eastern suburbs. So at least one still around.
