Hello

Been in a garage for 9 years off the road the guy stated doing the floor pans and then gave up,
Its got a 260, 2.6 up front with janspeed header and exhuast and a R200 diff out back and twin Su's,
Starts and drive but a bit rough, so carbs need looking at and the brakes it's had 4 pots up front and 260 rear callipers and disc's which need bleeding but sort of work,

Plans are to finish off the welding build some coil overs for it and some camber plates and get it a bit closer to the ground, I also have as set of weber 40 DCOE's lying round and some ZG flares.

The wheels are minilites 8 x 15's they do look alot like watanabe's though , the fronts look abit to wide with the offset and the backs look to narrow, So im thinking new wheels or just some wider backs,

Wanna try and get it done by the end of March as there is a show i wanna take it to, i can see some late nights over the next month

been on it the past couple of days trying to sort out the floors, welding was started by the previous owner about 9 years ago then he gave up because he couldn't really weld

Image

I've spent 2 days going over all the welding checkin its actually bonded and redo'in the bits which haven't and seam sealing and general tidying up.

Made some floor rails and grafted them in to, made them a bit thicker than usual so if i do ground the car out it will bit stronger,

Sorting wheels out the next few days, think im going with banded steels in 10 x 15 and 9 x 15 ( need to check fit before i get them banded thou) I have got archs so gonna stretch the tyres a bit I rekon

Black steels never look wrong, I reckon.
Any idea what car the steels you have are off ? I've been after some old style 14" or 15" steels for a while but all the old British rims with the right PCD seem to be 13's. TR5 wheels are ok but they have holes, I'm after something Lotus Cortina-ish looking.

just need to get my arch's on and measure how much to band them by,

Also nearly finished all the welding, under floor frame rails are on, so are the seat rails inside, just a bit of welding on one sill to complete :tu:

update from the weekend,

Had the tyres swopped over on to the back rims, nice little bit of stretch,
Image

Then 6 police turned up and evacuated me becuase there was a suspected WWII bomb found next to my workshop :o :o

After a few hours I was aloud back in, it was only a weight off a fly press in the end.

tried the backs on, think I could of gone wider but will prob need to space them out a bit when I do the back coilovers.
Image
yesterday was coilover day
Image
off and ready to go
Image
cut round the spring perch with a hacksaw then a quick tap with a hammer and off it comes
Image
clean up the rest off the weld and slide on the bottom ring,
Image
then the threaded adjuster
Image
All back together ready for test fit
Image
bolted back on,Wheel clears the shock just,
Image
Tomorrow I will put it back on its wheels and see how low it is 8-)
