A few weekends ago I went to Tokyo for Nostalgic 2 Days. It was awesome. Pictures here:

We went Saturday day and stayed the night in Tokyo Saturday night. Well, Sunday morning, my good friend suggested that we check out the Daikoku Futo parking area as there might be some cool cars there. We packed ourselves into the car and made our way out there at a very early 9:00 a.m. It was worth it.

The number of supercars out was absolutely staggering. Ferraris were a dime a dozen.

There was even a 348 club in attendance.

So, here's go my collection of photos, starting with a Lamborghini Diablo.

What was awesome about this car was that it was parked next to a 430 Ferrari and not a soul was looking at the Ferrari.

Image

SLR McLaren.

Image

The real show stopper was the Lamborghini Aventador.

Image

This is what a supercar should be.

Image

Image

We headed straight home after losing our minds at the millions of dollars of cars. On the way we got some pretty stellar pictures of Mt. Fuji though!

And, as a little cherry on top, we found this R8 Spyder in a parking area along the way.

Thanks for looking guys!

Cheers,
David

Makes sense. One is a lovingly cared for antique, the other belongs to a rich guy who wrote a check. :P

Went to cars and coffee the other weekend and that exact sort of thing happened as well. Brand new 458 right next to a Lancia Zagato coupe and everybody was around the Zagato!

Great pics, looks like it was certainly worth the trip.
I have always been a made Lamborghini fan, since the Countach on my bedroom wall in the 80's but there is something about that 458 Italia that does it for me.
Having said that, the Aventador is nothing short of awesome

the Countach always gives me w@@d, but the new Lambos I could care less about. the Ferraris, though, most of them are awesome. But I have to add that the r8 is pure sex.

You didn't kill the thread Opelboy, the thread was just taking a nap for a little while!

The Countach was actually the first car I ever hung a picture of in my room as a kid as well. I've loved Lambos ever since. I remember when the Diablo came out and how radical it was. Of course, since the Countach was my first dream car, that means that someday I'll have to get rich and buy one. They're supposedly awful and miserable to drive, but who cares, it's a Countach!

Little bit of Countach/Japanese trivia. In Japanese it's written as カウンタック (kauntakku), which when said aloud sounds like "cown tach oo", which is a common point of confusion as I've always said it like "coon tosh", which I believe is the correct pronunciation.

The Ferraris, interestingly, didn't really do much for me as there was just too many of them for them to be unique. The Shelby Cobras on the other hand, definitely had me excited. I'd love to drive one of those one day (a replica, no way I'd ever drive an original).

Seconded on the Countach love, poster on my wall and all. Having driven one, I can vouch for them being rather miserable, though.

You need to get more pictures of aircooled 911s next time, mister.
