Ok, I may not have any official say in the matter, but I'm ready to declare the Freebird's meet dead. I went to the Southlake thing, got there at about 1900h (7:00 pm), rolled to the roof, and was a hit with the kiddos. You'd think they had never seen a Lotus Seven before... oh right. Anyhoo, by cutting out at 2100h (9:00 pm) I was home by 2200h (10:00 pm) so I think this is a doable event even for old farts like me. What do y'all say? Let's meet at the west garage of Southlake Town Square from now on.

But this is NOT me taking over the event!

I am real sorry I didn't show tonight guys. It was just a combination of bad timing on alot of things. First, my fiancee was flying back into town around the time we usually meet. Second, my is down temporaily so I don't have my normal ride. Third, I still had alot of homework to do so that wouldn't have worked. Sorry guys. :(

On the subject of the meet. As much as I like the Southlake meet I think permantly moving ours there I think we would get lost and not be noticed for the group that we are. Unless we all park together and try to get what classics to show up park with us. I don't know I just think that if we do this it is like we are giving up on making our meet special and something just for us vintage lovers. I know we have little to no people show up most of the time. I think the majority of the time it is the Tim , Tim and Jeff show. :D

I guess if everyone wants to do this I will go along with it.

Well, my thinking is we show up at our usual time of 1830h (6:30 pm) and Bogart an area for ourselves on a lower level. We could then watch out for the JNC-driving "regulars" from the Southlake thing and see if they want to park with us as they pass by. I don't know, just a thought. We could always find some other spot outside the garage for our meet then roll in together all gangsta and stuff.

I think these are both good options. :tu:

I would also prefer moving it to the Southlake meet, but I think figuring out a way to park close to each other is the key.

Freebird's does have good food though... :P

Shirley, there must be someplace to eat in Southlake Town Square.

Sorry, that was supposed to say, "Surely there must be someplace to eat in Southlake Town Square."

Tons of places. Just nowhere within walking distance of the garage.

Ideally, we could find an eating place in the area (or better yet in the shopping center), meet there at 6:30, anyone who wants to eat can, then all roll together into the meet at 7:30-7:45?

That way we also have the strictly old school meet at that eating place, and those that want to can roll to the other meet?

FYI, Corner Bakery is in the same complex, not too far from it, but it closes at 7:00.

Then pick a restaurant from that list. :P

And just so you know, Kobeya Japanese is open until 9pm. And about a block from the garage. 8)

Well, Japanese seems appropriate so Kobeya works for me. I've heard good things about Five Guys Burgers as well. I'm easy.

I think we might be able to draw some more folks if we do... I could be wrong though.
