I drove the car last night in the same condition as the last pics. I then jokingly commented to the mechanic that the car was not powerful enough. He then got in the car and proceeded to perform a 3 circle donut with the car in front of me. Maybe the 13inch wheels helped but it was immpresive nonetheless. i was too awestruck to pull out my camera.

Nothing much happening. Still body prep and painting. Painfully slow and the guys forgot to mask off the window apertures so putty and primer sludge is collecting inside!!! WTF??!! I got to get that sorted out.

Just got an HKS turbo kit from a friend for an L20. Does anyone have pictures of how it looks ON the car? I've got no idea how to big part marked "TURBO" fits. It measures about 35cm across. Here's how it looks:

Yeah. It looks really cool. Typical early 80s Jap in-your-face styling. The 2inch TURBO script on the cast aluminium airbox just to remind you it is forced induction in case you forgot. I am just wondering how it is positioned in the engine bay. Hook up is straight forward i hope, i am just worried about the mounting location.

Hi all,
THis is the progress so far. Car is actually still rough. Interior is not touched at all. Paint is so-so. Chrome trim is missing. Wheels too small/car too high (it is actually really low and long with the standard springs). Fenders and bonnet not fitting properly. Got all the window rubbers though. Long way to go but it is getting there. Managed to drive it around town. That was awesome after 4 years of waiting.

I actually kind of regret going the "GT-R" way. I got the grill and badges. Just no time to put it on. The standard fenders without the flares might have been better.

That turbo kit styling is so awesome. I wonder why the kits for the L6 are slightly more subdued. :(

While she does look stunning with the GT-R look, I kind of agree with you that it would also have been nice to see a standard arched example for once...
