WOW! I'm shocked. but not 100%--it was a telephone bid. I was at the preview, but didn't bother to register to bid.
The estimated prices were grossly inflated, IMO.
In my opinion, many of the "restoration" efforts performed on these cars was suboptimal. The 360 Custom and the 360 truck there were not repainted very well, it appears.
The Datsun 240Z that the catalog makes sound as if it was THE single best Z car in the world.... was covered in overspray (from another car), had messed up paint on the RF fender from what looks like a brake fluid spill and even came with an awesome FRAM oil filter screwed into the side of that sexy, massive Inline 6.
Can't wait to see the auction results.
