I want to introduce my ride here, its a 84 Celica Supra European spec, comparable to the US P-type model.
I have bought it in 2007 and wanted to strip it down and restore it completely, but earlier this year I decided to make it my new dailydriver, so we removed the rust, repaired all necessary things, changed all fluids and painted it new in bmw alpinwhite.
This is how it looked when I bought it:
The differential was leaking and made noises, so we did a complete rebuild, the tank was conservated:
Everything that we removed we grinded and painted new:
We changed almost all the suspension rubber parts:
And we removed a LOT of rust:
This was maybe the worst part:
removing the welding points where possible
cutting the bad metal:
And you have a big hole in the car:
The guy who did the metal work disappointed me, so I brought the car to a friend and had to wait until he had finished his other projects.
We had huge holes all over the body:
some small holes had to be filled:
Rocker panels:
the rear panel:
Even the metal under the seals was rusty:
Finished:
The driver door was in a very poor condition, it was quite impossible to restore it, but he managed it to keep it at least another year:
The right fender was not original and had been poorly painted, so we grinded it down completely and made it better:
Preparation for painting:
With fresh paint:
And some pictures of the finished car:
