hello all,

If I have a 1978 Corolla TE51 sportback with an 2TC/slushbox and would like to convert it to a manual, what are the possible transmissions I can bolt on?

Thanks in advance! :tu:

thank you whit! I have some further questions for you.

from my limited knowledge and research it seems like as the picture illustrates there are different T50 models. one on the left is a 20 spline for te51s and the one on the right is for ae86s. what should I be looking for in the T40/T50 models?

I think all of the corolla's with a T motor should work, so up to 81. 82 the went to the A motors. Not sure if the early A's used the save trans/spline count.

Will do, I actually had such a hard time registering on this forum(the security question) that by the time I actually registered I was too excited to fill out the profile

Thank you UtahSleeper, I will be looking forward to switching out the transmission as soon as I find a suitable donor at a local yard.

what spline count is the T40 / T50 from earlier corollas? also is it safe to assume the 3TC and 2TC bell housing is universal?

Thank you

Bellhousing's are the same.
