I want to lower my 85 Toyota Cressida MX73.
I'm not sure how many coils to cut.
Anyone have experience with this?
or any suggestions??
Thanks!

Cut one coil at a time until you get your desired ride height.

Do you know what type of wheels you will be using? size and offset? that plays a role on how low you can go.

Thanks. Yeah, I'm just cutting the coils for now.
At least until I can afford to do it right haha

cutting a spring in half effectively doubles the spring rate, so it will be stiffer.

the bounciness is usually caused by crap shock absorbers. cut springs with shorter-stroke shockers can give a pretty comfortable but sporty ride

Yup, every single MX7x cressida I have owned, first thing I did was cut 2 coils all the way around. Camaro shocks in the rear(1982-2000 doesn't matter) and either sw20 MR2 rear strut inserts or I have used AE92 inserts as well. Nobody ever knew I was running cut springs. Don't know what it is about the cressida, but it rides just fine on cut springs!

Sits great and rides nice!
