Yes, defiantly a good shell. It has changed my thoughts on how far to go with it. Unfortunately it will take a bit longer I think.
I started making a rotisserie
It’s a 7/73 so I want it going by its 40th 8)

Pulling some parts out that I have had for a while and going through my nuts and bolts (36years of Mazda's) I want to make sure I use the right bolts and numbers on top off the bolts. might be a bit too much.

Picked up the motor choice. It was going to be 13b mild port (all new plates and housings) but I want it as quiet and as smooth as possible. It will be standard setup, manifolds and Turbo.
Back in 89-90 I my Rx3 had a 12a with a HKS blow through Weber set up, went well for back then. 9 pounds of boost and I use to feed it import motors at $300 ago. It was a lot more driveable than a bridge port (except in the rain)

Yes, very similar. It ran rich but use to lean out and pop at high revs

Hey it was 1990. Stock N/A motors with 9 pounds (I might wind in the waist gate adjuster sometimes) It ran best at 6 pounds, N/A rotors. The motors would rattle with the higher boost but it was to late usually. I was doing the wrong thing :(

Thanks. Yes I am very happy with the body

Ok been a while but been busy building a pergola out the back. So no time for panel work, off to get someone to do it for me. I would have rather do the work myself but no time and I would have got someone to paint it anyway. Car well on its way especially since it has only been there only 9 days.

I have been busy getting everything else ready to go back in when it gets back. Some trim parts will need some more attention but.

Great progress thus far, though i did notice the plates welded to the inside of the chassis rails.

Is this done for engineers report or the sorts for 13BT ???

It was the biggest concern when I bought the car. I didn't know why someone would do it, problem I thought someone was hiding something bogey. I have some NOS rails so I didn't worry too much. The plate was only 0.8mm so it wouldn't have been there for strength. It is a mystery still I have cut them off.

Took my heat shield to my father in laws, he has a pneumatic planishing hammer. Made them like new forgot to take a before pic.

Ok. I’m struggling with the radio. I have the original AM but they sound crap as we know. I have been looking for something. I tried my I pod with lead plugged straight into an old 2 channel AMP using RCA lead sounds a little less crap but.

I just want to some nice driving music, nothing flash. Just some Metallica or Tool(nice soft back ground music).

Looking at this but know nothing of them http://www.kicker.com/pxi502 or just go something like this http://www.classiccarstereo.co.uk/class ... audio.html

Anyone got anything. I really don’t know anything about stereos and only want something basic?

I'm surprised you don't have a ex Barry Jones 13B PP tucked away for a bit of music.

Does this meet your needs ? One of the Datsun guys is using one. Retain the original radio but use an external input for your mp3. I'm guessing the unit will drive a separate decent set of speakers that you can mount to the parcel shelf.

I would stay away from FM modulators if at all possible. But then i'm an audiophile snob.

That said, this device will go directly from a phone to the amplifier, bypassing the head unit completely:

http://www.ipodcarpros.com/Direct_To_Am ... _info.html

The thing with using ONLY a headphone-to-rca cable is you cant boost the line-level signal past max volume of the iPhone. This device boosts the signal in the volume control box.

This will bypass the original stereo, so if you want to listen to good 'ol AM talk radio you're SOL....

Also playing with gearboxes. Using a BT50 rear housing on a series 4 gearbox. Everything was cool but speedo drive doesn’t line up. Now I will have to pull it apart and change the main shafts over.
