i burned out the old bushings and brought them allready to the sandblasting company.
there is also the newly restored fueltank and the front struts.yes i've allredy fixed them.i show you how i did it.

Image

i opened the factory welding around the springplate with the saw to remove it.

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

then i was grinding plain the weldingseam.and prepared a piece of pipe with the same measure like the strut.

Image

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

pull the springplate before the pipe over the strut.

and then weld together one after the other :-)

I already told them :)

now for the big dissapointment:
Another C30 was discovered in the Netherlands just recently, blue one, badly rusted but as it was bought by one of the Netherlands biggest Datsun collectors i am quite sure he will fix her up.

Maybe our little dutch facebookgroup is interesting for you : https://www.facebook.com/groups/441312762568037/

Looks fantastic, factory fresh. Love the powered coated finish. Does it work out the most durable for these parts? I'm going to be stripping mine down too. Thought I'd get my parts blasted and coated too.

@eric:he has a very nice collection,and a lot of love for nissans/datsuns i think!!
@adzmax:yes i say its the best way for a durable surface protection on suspension parts.i never had problems with powder coated parts and we have alot of snow and salt in winter and very wet spring and fall times in switzerland.so its a hard job for tese parts!!

the last 2 weeks i had a lot of time to work on the datsun.so many things are back on the car as well as the wheels!!!
the rear brakes are back to work!!

Stunning resto so far!

May I ask, if you are fitting braces etc. how come you didn't opt to modify the shock body to a 2 1/4 coilover? Not criticism just curious.

@drive-by:its a good question.at first i produced these braces more for show than for performance.
in switzerland we maybe have the hardest rules in the world to have a car streetlegal.we ned certificates and very expensive test for every aftermarket part we want to put on a car.
i don't even have a certificate for my lower springs!!
in switzerland you can get legal coilovers for the most classic volkswagen and bimmers.but there is no chance to get one for a jnc!!!
very very sad!!!!!!!

I was aware europe was strict on modification but I had no idea it was that bad over there for you :(
Unfortunately "the man" is trying to push european motor law onto us in the UK too. I do hope I get to enjoy my cars before we suffer your fate :?
Companies like Rally Design over here supply parts like 4 link kits and coilover conversion kits to weld on threads and seats for your own 2 1/4 springs.
