hi guys, theres been some noise between engine and the backwheels.. engine totally healthy.. replaced bearings.. so i really think its driveshaft or diff (or at least something got to do with the drivetrain)
i dont have a LSD.. yesterday i drove a little hard, i think i broke something.. LOL.. there was a snap or twist or something..
and i almost had no drive.. the noise was scary as if something snapped and then after that it was a whole diff noise.. like metal hitting each other.. 1st gear was impossible to drive because the grinding sound was madness... i could move of with 2nd gear and above with wayy less sounds... so my car is now at home.. waiting to take it to a RWD specialist.

anyone know what might have happened? i need help.. i dont think the driveshaft broke, because i still could drive home. but something definitely got screwed lol..

Help..

thanks for the diagnostics bro!
im not sure what gearbox it has coz i just bought it..
its a 5 speed so most probably its a T50..
im not sure if k50 can be mated to 4AGEs or not..

atm i have 2 opinions saying that its the gearbox. haha..
and my own opinion thinking i messed up sumthing in the diff/driveshaft..
im starting to believe that its the gearbox.. sigh..
the sound + vibration feels like its coming more from the back part of the car bro..
so i really dont know..
im planning to get it checked tmr. some nervous shit! hahaa

Cheers!
Shannon

never worry about a crappy T50 again....

Put an Altezza 6 speed in and you'll never have to worry about the gearbox again

FML are you serious? the gearbox mounting fits directly with no mods?
im getting my car fixed and the new gearbox is already in.. FML FML...
turns out that my gearbox that came with the car when i bought it 1 month ago was for a 5k engine..
not sure if its k50 or t50...
FML.. lol

No.... notice the shiney machined billet section? THAT billet adapter allows the J160 to bolt to a 4AGE bellhousing. It is rather pricey... but it is FAR stronger then any T50... and that includes TRD T50 configurations.

ahhh i see.. it needs an adapter.. or adaptor.. not sure how its spelt.. LOL
anyway, i dont plan on Turbo-ing it so i hope the ae86 tranny, long shaft, diff + lsd should hold...
would it hold?
N/A blacktops are not THAT powerful enuff to break them (AE86 running gear) right?
btw i just found out that the tranny that came with the car when i got it a month ago
was not meant for the pushing i gave it LOL
check this link out.. good to know toyota rwd gearboxes and their specs..

http://www.toymods.org.au/~rod/Technica ... RBOXES.htm

apparently the gearbox that came with it was a k50..
and according to the link above,
its okay for 65 to about 100hp i think LOLOLOLOL..
so 1st was busted..
btw t50 is already in, took out clutch cable,
took out clutch pedal bracket from pedal bracket assembly,
put in clutch pump, and now waiting for longshaft and diff + lsd 4.3 fd + discbrakes to arrive from chopshop..
once those are fitted and working, will run the car awhile before deciding on what coilovers im going with..
then mayb change of wheels, and bodywork!
thanks for help mates..

Hi guys! Some updates on my car..
Got the T50 gearbox in,
shaved my trumpets,
rear disc + AE86 axle 4.3 FD + 2 way LSD + Discbrake + anti-roll bar,
AE86 Long shaft, change fuel pump wiring,
relocate ignition coil, got aircond running good,
change headlights setup, changed number plate fonts,
car is up and running but might need to check tuning and ECU settings..
need to see if all my sensors are working and if engine is running to full potential!
i will be away for a month so im gonna miss her :(
might want to do a full over haul + suspension upgrade + bushing change + tuning
+ a nice front chin spoiler, change rear spoiler, get body work done, and finally paint!

Cheers,
Shannon

WOW, That is gorgeous. I love it. I have always had a thing for KE70s.. Glad you did a Blacktop swap too, that's one of my favorite motors. Great work so far.

I am guessing that the wheels are XXR 527 in 15x8.25, but that is just a guess :D
