Hey everyone! Figured I would post up some pics of my first 1972 Datsun 510 Wagon I picked up 2 months ago for $500.00 off craiglist! Also wanted to point out that I have already been offered $3,000.00 for this car the way it is and I said NOPE!
The car does have some rust but I dont care this is going to be a fun project car and just going with the flow on what I want to do with this. The speedo shows 90k miles on it but not sure yet if that is accurate or not, the enterior is actually pretty decent and everything is there. Exterior not so much, it does have rust holes and some dents that need to get taken care of but I have had worse.
I will post pics with updates the best I can, as of right now the car didnt have a gas tank and I know I wont be sticking with the stock engine for that long so I ended up with putting a fuel cell in the car with fuel braided lines going towards the engine bay. I do have a sr20 block from my old 240sx but not sure if I want that or a rotary carb just yet. Anyways on with the pics, please let me know what you think and any advice will be taken.
Sorry I started this on another forum and the pictures are all over so I will do my best to keep it in order.
When I first got the car.
In the garage with my beetle
outside with my beetle
some parts, new water pump, fuel pump, braided lines, and thermo housing
Fuel Cell in but not done just yet, still doing some cutting and welding might cover all that up with aluminum with a with a fuel door
View from the back
Engine bay shot with Fuel Regulator and Braided line.
ISIS Coil overs on for now, I will be taking everything off again to re do the bushings.
front view and it is maxed out from tire to fender on 13s, coil overs can go tons more.
So I got the fuel line done and a switch for the fuel pump also connected to the ignition and the car turn on easy by it self. Motor sounds pretty solid just need to get a new radiator because I dont really trust the stock old one and couple things for the brakes to put back on.
