got a mk1 supra need help.

hello i got this 79 supra a week ago not running . the guy i got it from had the head redone 2 years ago drove around the block and parked it for 2 weeks and when he want to start it again it wouldn't start.

well after alot of work i got it running but it has a problem, it wont rev past 2200 rpm, almost like it hits a rev limiter. and it runs a little ruff . i think its a timing issue . but any help would be great.

i got some pictures of every thing,

this is of the cam and the pointer is lined up with the dowel like it should to be.

rotor pointing at #1 exactly

i have the distributor almost to the stop to get to 12*

here is the timing mark, its a little off, is that a acceptable amount?

new parts,
engine rebuilt 60,xxx miles ago
head rebuilt less then 10 miles ago
new fuel pump
new fuel filter
most fuel lines replaced
new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor
new coil
injectors rebuilt before i got it.

any help would be great. thanks

i changed the igniter to my spare one and now it revs to 3100-3200. this thing is driving me nuts.

I am thinking that your crank and your distributor are off a tad. I would look at resetting the timing between the crank and the cam and also the distributor all at the same time. Not a hard fix, but a bit time consuming. I have been fighting this sort of thing with my wife's camry. I redid all the front seals and replaced the timing belt. Took me two days to get the crank and the cams lined back up.

i have played with it all day and it just made it worse. it must be a electrical or fuel issue become as soon as i switched to my spare igniter it went from 2200 rpm max to 3200 rpm max.

Either a bad FPR or maybe some junk in the tank/lines restricting fuel flow?

thats one thing i haven't done is check fuel pressure, i don't have a gauge. i will switch out the fpr with a spare and see if that make a difference. thanks.
