Note that some head gaskets (like the one shown) have an offset oil passage hole to compensate for the two oil holes being a few millimeters apart. This
should eliminate the need to do that machine work.
You will also notice some of the coolant passages don't line up correctly. Most people drill extra holes into the block to allow for coolant passage around the pistons. Some have reported their engines not lasting very long without drilling these holes (pistons badly scored from heat damage in less than 20k miles).
