The coupe and the Fc look sweet obviously you have sorted thru the rust buckets.

It is unbeliveably hard to find a rust free Mazda in NZ. It's even harder to find ones that haven't been messed with.

Nice! I would of bought that series 5 if it wasnt in the wrong island!
I love the Panasports, but the stereo kind off looked out of place.

What sort of trim is it? GTR, GTX etc?

Not sure what trim it is, but it certainly isn't leather which is a shame. The Radio is a bit poo but I am on the look out for a stock one if I can get one.
The Panasports are lush, and the Mazdaspeed exhaust sounds nice too..

My mate tried buying this Series 5 and gave up after the owner and the guy who was trying to sell if on his behalf would not answer or return phone calls, it was for sale for a long time and we worked it out it was on the market for about 18 months going back about 3months ago.

I also tried contacting the seller about buying this car, it was a bit like pushing shit uphill - as you say, they were terrible at returning calls.

then when I finally got hold of them, they wouldn't budge on the price.

Sigh.

Well I had nothing but great service from both of them. I even made the owner take the car to my friend Brian (MazsportNZ) so he could do a comprehensive check of the mototr etc before I bought it. The owner also put a brand new WOF on it for me. Lucky me I guess.

Ah well. The seller probably realized that he wasn't going to sell the car in any great hurry by being uncooperative.

At least it's gone to a good home. My garage is bursting at the seams as it is :D

yes, more pics/build thread would be nice!

o.k. so here is the thing.

From my google checks, this car seems to be a GTX. ie it has rear spoiler electric windows etc. GTR seems to be the base model, ie no electric windows etc.

So people, how do I know for sure?

Check for an Lsd all GTXs' came with them, otherwise could be a GTR, the two are the most similar compared to the GT limited (sun roof and different seats)

If its original paint you may (in the right light) be able to see a sun fade mark where the front GTX guard decal used to be?

But unless you can see a decal its sometimes hard to tell as a fully optioned GTR would be identical to the GTX (apart from the decal)

Sorry Im more familiar with S4 than 5.

Hope that helps, your car reminded me of this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpVLR1tRZ5Y

Actually looks identical!?
