I have spent many hours searching the net trying to identify this wheel and have admitted defeat
It is made of aluminum (Or perhaps magnesium alloy?), marked with the words "Japan" and "R-25" and "Enkei" a hole for a valve and a diameter of 20 inches and a rim width of 2 and 5/8th inches.
Any ideas about what this was from, dates or other details would be much appreciated. It has been suggested it is a motorbike wheel.

Yamaha used those wheels on the early 80's Maxim and Virago motorcycles. That looks like the front wheel. I had two 82 550 Maxim's, my mom had an 82 650, my stepdad an 82 750 Maxim, and my father an 83? Virago, that all had those wheels on them. That is the first one I've ever seen painted. Usually the edges and rim are polished, with black insets. The holes on the one side should be for a single disc brake. The back wheel will look the same, but will be smaller diameter, wider width, setup for drum brake.
