Which front springs did you use? I would have expected it to go lower than that.

Time for chopping!

you should be able to get steelies made up by a local wheel refinisher/repairer, I have had sets made up here in Adelaide by 2 different places.

Thanks for the info on where too get the steel wheels!

And john wow never realized they really transformed the look of the 40 series crown with those fender mirrors, gives it a more square look, i like it alot .. think i might get those instead

you could buy falcon steelies quite cheaply off ebay or from a wrecker and have them widened by someone like eastern wheel works.

will 15x8 with zero offset actually fit - has hezath helped you measure it all up?

Hey Adam , i've trial fitted some 0 offsets before and they seem to be fine

I will post up a picture of my white crown with some 5 slot jelly beans on a stockish ride height

Thinking about it now i guess i should trial it again with the same wheels ... i'll do that and post results

Edit:

Not sure if there 15x8 or 14x8... can't remember lol

Hi guys, i have opened up a crown community domain for crowners to come participate in - it is in its early stages now is predicted to be quite active sooner or later.

As i see others posting links to other sites i assume that i am allowed too!

The element is still a good Toyota #, at least in Canada: 04234-30010, $6.49.

Sorry, been a while since i posted!

Been really busy launching my site etc...

Heres a copy paste from a thread at tcc forum's

Basically traded a vacum guage, and some toyota driving lights for a set of ford 16x8 0 offset steel wheels

example of the condition before

Image

Sanding down

Image

Remembered that my mum works in developing powder coating for dulux so she surely should have some connections to sandblasting guys and powdercoaters!!

Sandblasting and powdercoating tommorow :D :D

Wow got fucked around today... the guy told me $250 for ALL 4 wheels on the phone and then told me it's $200 a wheel ... (powdercoated/sandblsating)

Anyway i ended up just getting them sand blasted off a guy that does it, he did it for $30 a wheel

Image

Finished result:

A nice picture of them riding shotgun in the crown

Image

Money spent reviving these bad boys

Sand blasting $120 @ $30 per wheel
Powdercoating $200 @ $50 per wheel (satin black)

= $320

Now for tyres!
