 Post subject: twin pipes over the rear bumper

hy im trying to find some info on the long twin pipes that come over and up the rear bumper. info on how long. placement. angle. if anyone can shine in plz. thanks.

If you are talking Boso pipes, then there is no formula. Just find a size that fits you muffler and make something that makes you happy. I am guessing that most of the angles are going to be some where around an obtuse 120-130 degrees measured from the front or measured from rear of the car, maybe 60-75 degrees. You can do a 90 degree bend, but it really only works on sedans. Get a chop saw and just start cutting angles on scrap(I plan on using PVC as it is cheaper) till you find an angle you like. Tranfer that to your pipe and weld away. Height is up to you. I plan on 5-6 ft pipes with a bracket for stability.

ok sounds good. does it matter wether tail pipe is located in center of bumper or left right side?. btw i have a corona 4dr lifback. with the side fender mirrors.

LOL. I don't think there are any "rules". Just do whatever you want. Check out a few Japanese magazines that feature those cars. As for me, I sometimes think about putting "lakes" pipes or side pipes (with the perforated shield like on 60's Corvettes) on one side of my cars. With the new stainless flex exhaust couplings now available (one good thing to come from FWD car design), side exhausts seem more doable...

ok got my ideas ready in my head. ill use pvc for my template like mentioned above. i hope i can get this done before December. than :tu: ks guyd for info..
