So has anybody tried the Chevelle front and rear springs on the Crown? I've just started resto works on my MS51 and looking to lower it some. Would a set of aftermarket chevelle lowered springs work?

Thanks

Chris

I am almost sure no one will know the answers for your questions... But let us know how it works out! Measurements and sharing info will help out others.

I'd love to know the answer to that myself. If they work I would get some also. I believe many springs from other cars will work in the back, most likely the front would be a bit harder to work with. I have a few updates for the tread coming soon.

For the MS40 to 95 Crowns, King Springs' catalogue lists the same rear spring for the 1983-1989 Toyota Tarago (van), so I'm wondering about trying to find those somehow. Their price is good ($150/pair) but getting them from Australia to here isn't cheap.

I'm going stock height; maybe you can have mine when I get new ones; it's nearly sitting on its bump stops now. ;)

the 92's look too new and are out of place on this car. steelies made the overall package. there's some cool mesh designs that look better on older cars, or maybe you could pull off the slot mag or smoothie style.

Spoke to Neil at Coil Springs a couple of days ago.
And they still do it - just measure the spring length when compressed in situ and then Tahoe a front and rear out - tell them how much you want it lowered and they manufacture them and it costs around £250.00
Guess inflation works on the price of steel too.
My MS55 is going through same treatment - I've photoshopped to show how low I want to go - and today's round trip of 500 km to get a set of 5 spoke alu wheels in 16x8,5 with good tyres - 245/45 for rear and 225/45 for front.
They come off a Supra so ET is 24 and I can see that I need to got with skinnier tires on rear and front. Probably go for 205/60 profile.
Only thing is I need to have the center hole made bigger.
