That's a great job ! Will you have to change all the plastic and rubber parts ? Have you sourced these non-metallic parts on the internet ? What about the bearings ? Congrats :wink:

Brake cylinders I have lying on the shelf already. Lucky to find NOS parts on e-bay.
The rest of the parts looks quite usable as is. They will brush up nicely I hope.
I will source some bearings but I have not started doing research on them yet. We'll see.

Got my engine up in the air today.
Easier to move around, an a bit more comfy when I start to work on it later.

Modified a standard engine-stand, as I didn't wanted to hang it form the bolts in front alone.
Made an additional support in the rear.

That will make any work you need to do on the engine much easier.
A really good idea.
Are you going to completely rebuild the engine or just clean it properly?

There is no specific plan for the engine.
We'll see what I do once I start looking at it.
It's dependant of condition.
Compression is good and all, but I wil probably dismantle some to check for wear and such.

top job on the car so far mate, love the engine stand too, i have a spare rebuilt engine i want to put on a stand like that so i can start it up from time to time.

These specific parts were a random deal offered on e-bay.

Have done som more prep on the gastank.
Shook it with some de-greaser and and chain inside.
Treated it with Hirsch Tank Etch inside and coated the outside in etch primer.
