Finally, after waiting a few weeks i got my new floorpans from Zedd Findings which are the best avialeble floorpans and the closest one to the original Design. Really like them

More stuff to come soon, working hard on the EK9 project now

In case if you're wondering: the 240Z project is by far not dead! Im just completing the EK9 and don't want to work on two things at the same time. This also gives me the opportunity to think about a few solutions. Today i went to check out a rusty but complete and probably good base Z that will maybe replace the pretty wrecked Shell i have now. Let's see if i'll get it or not! Also in about a week i will check out a big colleciton of NOS Datsun parts and probably buy a few things

the dashboard seems ok, if the price is ok and you have room to store it you should get it just for this and the parts!
Nils, I'm after a R180 differential if you see a spare one in good condition. On my side I just passed the MFK this morning for the 240z, I'm happy today:)

yeah the dash seems ok, but hadn't really the opportunity to take a closer look. it's like this: The car is already sold but the new owner has to pick it up this week otherwise i will get it. the price is good and the car seems in usable condition but quite rusty. roof window is missing and car is outside so it's raining directly into the car, there's a dead bird inside (check the pictures). i know the dash is worth more then he want's for the whole car, including all the pieces i would be able to use, including the entire chassis. but i have to look at some other ones before decide and tomorrow i will have a very special visit to a secret place with a big amount of datsun parts. at least that's what i heard, so stay tuned - and i give my best to find a solution how to continue with the Z. im really on fire for the project but somehow i want to complete the other car first until the end of the year (it's almost done) and on the other hand im still not sure which is the best solution to contiune with this project. bit it's by far not dead and im thinking about it every day :mrgreen:

First: Don't ask me about this place, i won't give anybody any information about it it's secret!!!
Today my mate stefan took me to a special place. A guy who stocks almost any imaginable datsun parts, rare cars and piles of used parts as well as some other parts and even ultra rare NOS parts. I didn't buy anything yet but i definitly will buy a lot of things soon!

Now remember that ma complete rear was destroyed by a little crash from the prevous owner and also by the fact someone earlier tried to weld in some different taillight-housings?:

The only thing I've seen is a tabco replacement panel that fits like crap, so I would avoid it.

Mine was crunched in the rear also. After (watching the body guy) fight the good fight, I found a shell that I cut the last 12" off of. That fit quite a bit better.

Thanks for all your input and help guys. i appreciate. Unfortunately i figured out it will be way to complicated to find all those parts. i need a lot of panels and stuff so i decided it might be the best solution to buy a second shell wich...

1) ... i can take all the panels from and replace them on my actual project
2) ... i can use the new shell and build up the car on this one.

I found a proper parts car a while i go and i will check it next week. and hopefully buy it.
It's a way cheaper, faster and easier solution than sourcing and buying all those parts NOS or used from around the world.

Im making a few decisions during next days, but hopefully i'll be able to make some big steps again during this winter

thanks mate! I've talked / emailed with them a few times, but their replacement panel ist not a one-piece but 3-piece item which is only about 80% the original shape. So i believe fitment is not 100% and all the small details like the clips and stuff need to be done on my own which i dont want to.
also it isn't really cheap and they weren't able to send me some pictures of the panels.
So i decided best solution is to get a used panel off another car and refurbish it. OEM is still best imo :tu:

But we'll see, maybe i'll need your help anyway.
do you know if the also make front inner wheel wells and maybe those air channels above the front inner wheel wells? im looking for those.

Im Currently looking for a solution for my Z. The body on mine isn't too bad, but there are a lot of ugly and cheap patch-reparis, as well as a ben't frame, and a crashed rear-end and a lot of parts which are missing. Some of them are really hard to find. so i thought a donor-car might be something good. some friends told me about this one i checked out a while ago and a bit further today:

I have to think about it. will check it out again next few days. the owner will be able to put it on a fork lift to see how it looks underneath. but it's promising so far

Pro:
- It's complete, so comes with all parts i need for any Z-Build

- I Can cut taillight panels and stuff
- I could sell a few parts like those funky aftermarket wheels
- It has an aftermarket tinted front window (anyway i like OEM-style more)
- It has a lot of cosmeting wear and surface rust but seems to be in way better condition than mine when it comes to the Frame, floors and stuff.
- OEM Seats and seatbelts included.
- Price is cheap and parts are worth more then the whole car costs.
- Comes with replacement doors and rear spoiler
- Free dead bird inside included

Contra:
- Rear window-rubber and trim missing
- Bent roof
- Roof window missing (So it has been raining inside for a while...)
- Some water inside (but still ok if i clean it up before it rusts..)
- Seems to have been repainted in a wrong way because it's starting to rust under the paint, why paint is peeling off..
- Dashboard is cracked (but better than mine)
- Rear lower panel is kind of rusty and needs replacement...
- I haven't space indoor for the car so it needs to be stored outside..

well my decision so far: If i check it out within next few days and it looks good from underneath and i get a good price i will buy it, pull it apart and then see which one is worth more the rebuilding. at least i have a lot of bodyparts and spareparts then. You'll see! More coming soon!
