Well, today the three bulb sockets I needed finally showed up. I had some broken ones and needed them to finish the LED conversion. So while doing that I switched the right gauge lights out to the old bulbs to get a comparison pic. The old bulbs made that gauge brighter then it had been when all the lights were the old style bulbs, so having the other two gauges LED had an effect on it of course. (It was definitely not that bright before) Regardless, you can still see a difference in just that one between bulb and LED:

Of course, it's a little difficult to get pictures of perceived light.
The only thing is, I'm thinking of going back to the bulbs for the dash turn signal indicators. The new LEDs are great during the day, but F'n blinding at night!

Yeah, it bothers be too. The backlighting isn't too bright, it's about perfect compared to the original bulbs. The brights indicator was hardly even noticeable before and is about perfect now. I'll admit the red warning indicators are bright, but I want those to be anyways, not something I want to miss. The only ones that were too bright are the turn signal indicators, those are definitely going back to bulb! I don't like being blinded when trying to turn a corner.

I've been away for 6 months and since being back I've been able to do very little to the Laurel. The first priority was getting my daily driver ('94 Isuzu Amigo) running decent... something not really obtainable since it's been pushing the dipstick out of the holder the last year and a half. So the next priority was a new vehicle. I happened upon a good deal on a 2011 Durango, which I was extremely impressed with... much more than the Nissan Pathfinder I was thinking of getting. Anyways, to get around to the point, I have only had time to do one thing since being back. Which was to try to fix the caster issue I've got. The front tires, despite having negative camber, have been wearing very bad on the outer edge of the tire. Knowing that my caster was causing this, I ended up rotating the coilover's top mount plate so I could try to fix it. I haven't driven it much since to see how it's wearing, but the initial tests I found it was much more stable than its been in corners. Here's a pic:

On a side note... The best part of having a new vehicle, is that I finally have something to tow the Laurel around with!

who did you buy the LEDs from? i bought mine from superbright LEDs, they are about the same as yours, i bought green too, but i wanted that to try to match the omori's that i have. i am thinking about re-doing it again, i want something brighter, thinking about going white this time. my gauges are just too damn dark at night, drives me NUTS!

I got mine from superbright leds also. They still aren't as bright as they should be able to be, but I've been able to bear it a lot better than the stock bulbs.

wookieballa - I got the green ones, and yeah the cluster's tinted green. I followed what the superbrightled site said regarding that, and I have wondered if green ones would get it brighter.

Norcal510 & Eric - thanks! I've got a lot of catching up to do with this thing, I think exhaust is the next thing I'm going to sort out. Since it's got the SR in it, I want 3" exhaust, but ground clearance is an issue. But I think I've sorted that out and I'm going to be ordering some oval, 3" equivalent, exhaust soon. But than again... the front suspension needs to be sorted out... and the cooling system.... so many different directions to go!

Have you fuelling issues now solved with the placement of the fuel surge tank?

Sometimes I've some fuelling issues with WOT, I'm suspecting the 'small' feed line from the tank to the fuel pump as the problem..

the std. fuel pickup is only 6mm, most modern engine take 8mm. So i guess upgrading that would be a good thing.

Datsun_S110: The fueling issues I had were not solved with the fuel surge tank, nor when I upgraded to 8mm fuel line from the surge tank to the engine. I was completely baffled. But when I was chasing an issue of the headlights dimming out under WOT/high G acceleration (still not resolved, believe to be a relay issue), I upgraded the alternator. Ended up finding out that my original alternator was not pushing enough amps for the fuel pump/s.

Now, with the stock 6mm line from the main tank to the surge tank and 8mm line from there to the engine, it's been running great in terms of fuel feed.

Were can i buy these? i need my rear end to go as low as my front end too!

I'm running these coilovers on the rear of my 510 with T3 front 280ZX coilover struts up front. I have a 7' ground control front spring (instead of the supplied 8"), but had to swap out the rear 10" spring for an 8" to get the rear to sit low enough to match the front.

Since I'm hoping to get to a couple of car shows soon I had to weigh the Laurel and find out it's weight. It weighed 2560 lbs, so I'm almost ready.

familycar: I was in Okinawa. I imported mine myself, not through the mil port, so I'm not sure how much headache the RB swap would cause you there.

There's a list of things I want to get done still, but I had to get a couple of accessories for the Laurel first:

Now I'm all set for a couple of upcoming shows I've been wanting to get to!
