The Scion is sold and gone, replaced by a 1971 Datsun 510 2-door with a 4-speed! I bought it from a pastor in Salem, OR for $4,500. In addition to the car, the sale also included the original L16 peanut (the car has an L18 peanut installed), an extra set of tires, an extra set of taillights, an extra domelight, a bunch of other miscellaneous extra parts, and a book about how to take care of it. It has no significant rust anywhere that I've found so far, the interior is in incredibly good condition, and it runs and drives pretty damn well for a 41 year old car. It also has the factory tachometer and dual SU caruretors! I actually drove it from Salem, OR to my home in La Vista, NE - about 1800 miles - 2 days after I bought it! It has a few minor issues, as they all do, but they're nothing that I wont be able to fix. Thanks to some wonderful help from Eric and Ryan at JDM Legends and Allan at Utah Imports, my friends and I, along with both the Datsun and our support vehicle, made the long journey successfully.
Now... where to start with the restoration...?
