I honestly didn't think it would happen, but fate had other plans. Last month I became the fourth (that I can verify) owner of this piece of MOPAR history. I saw the car on a Craiglist ad from Lima, Ohio. After about four days of pondering, I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. It appears to be mostly complete, with the exception of the missing the rear bumper and destroyed front seats.

The car needs a lot of basic work, but since this is my second restoration (my first is my 1969 Dodge Charger) I have a good idea about what to do. Everything needs a major cleaning, the body needs fixed and the mechanicals, especially this mysterious 2.6L, need a complete go-through. This is definitely a take-my-time-and-do-it-right project. However, this is my first attempt at working on an import. The closest I've come is owning a 1981 Reliant with a Mitsu engine in high school (class of 1991 in case you're wondering . Hopefully you knowledgeable board members can help me out on this learning curve. Props to member FireArrow for already helping me with info.

Sick find! I love the way those seats looked stock the plaid is awesome.

Throw a turbo 2.6 out of a conquest into it along with the electronics and enjoy that thing.

You're in ohio, the DSM shoot out is coming up on the 17-19th of august, have you ever heard of it and do you plan to go? I'm trying to get my 73 wagon ready to take there.

Since I first laid eyes on that car three years ago it certainly hasn't changed much, but I think you were destined to acquire that car, bgt01, and I am certain that you will do a first-rate restoration on it.

I've never heard of the Shootout. I looked it up and it looks interesting, but I don't think I'll be able to make it this year but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks for letting me know about it.

Just think of that "little big block" as "half a Hemi" and you'll be just fine. Ain't no thang. LOL

Glad you're keeping it pretty much stock for now. It'll be easy to get it running well on that S-M downdraft -as long as the internals check out okay - and even in stock trim, it'll run plenty quick enough for the street.

Great to see that you found a sister car to mine! I can help you with parts and information if you like. I am very familiar with the Fire Arrow, having rallied one back in the early eighties, and my historic car (so to speak) today. I was going to toss out some OEM stuff, but I would rather it find a good home if you like. I am outskirts of Detroit.

How is the project coming along? Does the car run at all? Looks like very little rust, so you have the best start of all. These cars are way simple. I can help you find parts as you will surely need a cylinder head to start....do you want to keep this stock or modify the car along the way?
