My son showed me this site, starting a new project with him.

I used to fix up RX2's & RX3's & race them thru the hills at nights
back in the late 70's early 80's.
Trying to dig up some of my old Mazda photo's, found this one.

wow........mazda's sure have gotten alot more expensive
than my old days....

Glad to find a place where guys are still playing with those old mazda's.

Bringing back alot of old memories, great times.
Talking with my son, we did alot of random things to our cars
back then.
We were all about lightening up the weight & suspension.
Gutted the inside of the cars, built roll cages inside, moved the
battery to the trunk to offset the driver weight (used welding cables)
Installed HEAVY sway bars with urethane busshings, installed
camber/caster adj plates atop the shock towers with Bilstein shocks.
etc, etc

The best......... we installed aircraft landing lights on our high beams
to light up the canyons at nights

Always thought some of the 70s Mazdas had amazing lines..

So cal canyon racing? As in the back roads of glendora mountain road (GMR) and angeles crest highway?

That's where I go racing now.
