Hello everyone. I live in Santa Maria, CA, my name is Theresa and I'm fascinated by rotary engines.

I currently own a 1986 FC (NA), but unfortinuately it developed a coolant leak a couple of months ago and my husband wants me to get rid of it. (My daily driver is an RX-8....which my husband doesn't like either.)

I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone, and thanks in advance for all of the advice.

Hello. I don't have a special shop. My RX-8 is still under warrenty so I take it to the dealer. I'm hoping to learn to work on them myself...eventually. We live in an apartment without a garage so it makes it some what difficult.

Have you found the coolant leak on the 7?

Yeah, the 7 started eating coolant about 5 months ago. We bought it in September and after an epic battle with the DMV I got the title and the plates. About 2 weeks later it started eating coolant. It was really frustrating.

I managed to strike a compromise with my husband though O:-). He's been upset because we bought it that it's spent most of the time sitting in his parking space. I found a 1st gen RX-7 that is pretty much pristine for $1500. The owner is moving to England and doesn't want to pay to store it. So I bought the FB today and I've listed the FC for sale. I couldn't buy a new engine for the FC for the cost of the FB. (It is an FB I double checked the VIN).

I'm still sad about having to sell the FC though. I'm starting grad school in the fall and we just can't afford the amount of TLC that it needs right now.

So right now I own a RX-8, a 1985 FB/SA RX-7 and a 1986 FC RX-7. .....but the FC is for sale
My husband is willing to tolerate my rotaries as long as their running.
