From what I've seen, it looks like the later bumpers weren't metal all the way across? Looks like they had rubber corners. Maybe nobody wanted to mold that? Either way, I guess mine will be the first.

Great start to the project. Any recent progress?

I have a '79 510 wagon, kind of the 210's half brother and the bumpers have to go. Where did you find those fiberglass ones and what did they run you? I think they would be close enough that I could get them to work.
