I think I want to do build a Hakosuka, but they appear to be kinda hard to come by. I found some reasonable ones in 1/32, but I'd prefer 1/24 scale.

Great models, BTW. I need to start building again...

Among others!!! I'm envious!!! The KEn and MAry C110 above it s so sweet. I've come across a couple of bozosoku-styled model kits, but either the pricing was through the roof or they were from overseas. I guess it's not the kid of stuff you get from the local hobby shop...

Thanks for the appreciative comments! I bought most of these back in the 90's, when the normal shops were bringing this stuff in but before Japanese models were creating the interest they do now. There's also been the odd lucky eBay purchase, but again nothing recently.

The C110 is a nice kit, can be built as a relatively standard GT-X or with options like lower suspension, different lights/grille etc. Even comes with working lights and a 1:24 pair of slippers! Wheels are Volk Racing.

The Tamiya Leopard and R30 both come with scooters.

The Fujimi C110 was bought before Tamiya did their's. I remember there was also a racing version too, but I only had the money for one

The MID-4 is one I've had for years.

As said above, it'l be years before I ever build any of these (or even finish the ones I have started, like the Maserati which I fitted with a Chevy V8 and Borrani wires!), but just seeing them on the shelf brings me pleasure.

Gamby, theres heaps - just go online to the Japanese shops, Aoshima, Fujimi, and Tamiya all make 1/24 Hakosuka GT-R kits, in street and racing versions, 2 and 4 door. Tamiya's is by far the best, beautiful detail, even a beautifully detailed motor*.
Fujimi and Aoshima do C110s as well.
And on the chassis variants, Aoshima do a very hawt C130 Laurel coupe.

*in the one I'm building I ripped it out and stuck an L-series from a Fujimi kit in, haha.

Do you have a link to a trustworthy online shop?

Also, can I pay w/ my plain ol' American Mastercard???

I've had a bummer of a time trying to track down this stuff. :?

I have bought from both, and found them both to be reliable and honest.

Just purchased this lot...

Likely to do the R30 first, probably on Work Equips. And this is on its way here soon:

Bidding on this from the same seller:

Found a place here in the UK who seems to do an excellent range of the Japanese kits www.modelsforsale.com They emailed me the full list of Fujimi stuff, it's insane! I've submitted a wish-list to see what they can actually get for me. They had a few of the Tamiya R30 coupe in stock.

Oh, here's something Japanese I built a few years ago, E10 Cherry X1-R, one of the Nostalgic Hero series. Scale and detail not brilliant on them, but still a nice-looking thing.

Made some progress, sprayed and decal'ed the body on a hakosuka kit I'm building. Lots to do yet. Note distinct lack of S20 (triple carbs with turned bellmouths, wiring etc to come)

This is part of my model collection, all expertly crafted. I know they not japanese but still these are pretty cool. The caddy is accurate down to the leads being in the right order, it even has a set of laser etched keys sitting on the front seat lol I should try doing a couple japanese cars. I did the shell for my RC as an R34 skyline

Alclad real chrome paint used through the trunk, engine, and under body to give it a little sparkle.

the truck is all custom fab, the sunvisor, continental kit, real wood side panes. My roomate, who's a tattoo/graffiti artist painted the pinstriping on for me.

you canreally tell in this pic but the paint is a chameleon color. I love the negative camber on this one to, looks like a real low low.

Those are some pretty nice models. I should tell all of you about a message board I descovered recently. It is a international car modelers forum based out of the UK. The website is www.spc.org.uk/forum . That place is amazing. I consider myself to be a decent modeler, some of the guys in my local model club are some of the best builders in the United States. The guys on this message board can rival anything I have seen in alot of magazines or contests. If you really love model cars, check it out.

The detailing on most of those cars is downright ALARMING. They look so great up close.
