Awesome. My engine bay is fairly clean, but I'm going to give this a try and finally vanquish the more stubborn grime.

This is a great tip, but I would like to warn those of you that if you ever decided that you may want to paint your engine bay in the future, the WD40 may make it more difficult.

How so ? If you paint your engine bay, you would prep it or even remove the old paint first..

Very nice. I'm tempted to try it except I can't stand the smell of WD40. Does it leave a strong after-odor or does the smell dissipate pretty much to nothing?

Odor stays for a couple weeks max... you can spray down the engine bay with All purpose cleaner/water after cleaning if you want to minimize/neutralize the odor of wd40.
